When has kerrigan ever been darker than a marshmellow besides her infestation? Where are people getting this mulatto, black, or whatever color people are thinking. As for her infestation she looks green almost, like she's about to hack up a lung at sea or something.

Lighting people. Every image of Kerrigan is essentially the same but the choice of lighting and shadows are what make such "huge" and "inconsistent."

P.S.: Yeah, I guess she sorta has dreads in her old portrait but I think you're confusing between Rastafarians and Trustafarians.
There's a difference between dreads and badly rendered long hair. Why do you think all the characters had so little hair in SC1? Look at Raynor and Mengsk in WoL. They have longer hair for a reason; They couldn't render hair well during SC1 and BW. Now, that has changed. Could be some kind of cloak or head band, but I highly doubt that the red stuff on hanging on the sides of her head are dreads.

Exactly. Perhaps the only exception being that of the "photo" Raynor has of her.

Kudos to Arkceangel for the Terran avatar and sig!

Just compare. The lighting changes the actual lightness of the skin, but she's distinctly more brown than all the others. Am I the only one, who always thought of Kerrigan as being black in SC?

Hence why I said 'I guess' and 'sorta' - not convinced but can see how it can be argued as such.

    Pretty much.

Man is it just me or do the old Terran / Toss portraits have so much more charisma and charm and better lighting compared to the new ones where it's perfectly lit everywhere. The old ones also seem much more cinematic and way more unique as well.

Protoss actually look alien and cultural:

I wouldn't mind if they tweaked each individual protrait just a little bit so they some units look much more cultural than others.

She's definitely tan. Still white though.

I guess I gotta take what little victories I can get. This still clashes with the snow white skin color they gave her in WoL.

I can see them changing her skin to something more pale to show her innocence and purity before infestation and contrast it to her more sickly looking Queen of Blades appearance. If her skin was just tan, it'd be too similar to her Zergified skin color. I'm talking about SC2 visual aesthetics, since they probably want to retell Kerrigan's story as a good person pre-infestation.

I'd prefer her sickly Zerg green than the negroid shes become.

No but I always thought Jim was black up until SC2.
