Just realised something... a lot of my early speculation regarding HotS' plot is turning out to be true!!

1. Kerrigan separates from Raynor and Valerian Mengsk? ✓
2. Kerrigan finds herself alone and ally-less? ✓
3. Kerrigan spends time rebuilding her forces? ✓
4. Kerrigan seeks revenge against Arcturus Mengsk? ✓

Please, those were already a given.

Yes, they were fairly likely. However, people have been speculating (up to recently, I might add) that Raynor and/or Valerian Mengsk would stick around and figure prominently in HotS. Also, certainly prior to the possible leaked ending, it was entirely possible that the whole Kerrigan/Mengsk issue wouldn't necessarily feature in HotS. All the same, I did point out it was hardly a difficult guess...

Actually, now that I look back at some of the random shit I've been tossing about, the new trailer does suggest another speculation of mine: namely that the campaign starts off with Kerrigan being held in some sort of research facility, at which point the Dominion attack.

Firstly, I think the game will probably start some time after WoL (meaning, not immediately after) with Valerian and Raynor trying to figure out what exactly the Artifact did to Kerrigan and helping her recover from her time with the Zerg at a hidden Moebius research facility. Meanwhile, Arcturus if further vilifying Raynor by branding him a traitor to the race by having allied himself with Kerrigan and kidnapping Valerian (he would of course know what's going on). At the end of the first act, something happens that forces them to separate (e.g. Dominion forces attacking the facility); with Raynor and Valerian together and Kerrigan on her own (with perhaps a few returning characters from Raynor's Raiders); thereby effectively letting Kerrigan loose into the K-Sector and opening up her mission choices (assuming HotS features a similar mission structure to WoL).

Anyone else reckon that's what's happening in the cinematic trailer?

hmm..did any1 notice how kerrigans manifestation of the queen of blades looks hell of a lot like that xel naga depicting in the ulaan stone that zeratul was looking at in wol? and btw - LOVE what they did to her voice, sounds much more like the kerrigan i am used to

That's only a way of speaking, she's not Kerrigan's manifestation of the QoB...She's just an infested adjutant that Kerrigan got her hands on somewhere... (Before the adjutants became fully cybernetic)

As for the Ulaan artifacts representing something in the middle between the Protoss and Zerg depictions, it looks more like the Protoss Hybrid seen in SC2. (Which was actually originally meant to be the ONLY Hybrid, as there were originally no Protoss or Zerg Hybrids, just one Hybrid type, and it looked like the Protoss one).
