Then it'll be just another unit model and no one will care until there's another unfinished model found. At which point, it will become to new new hotness.
Rest In Peace, Old Friend.

There's quite a few unused models in the Galaxy Editor, for what it's worth. I'm pretty sure those are more well-known, however.

They are ready for download at the other site. I should post a link here in the modding section.
It's currently being used by Maverck's Starcraft 2 Broodwar with reduced texture size, and the SC1 remake uses the first version of this model.
This is a second pass, the first one had none of the team color and normal mapping.
3ds max 2010, and NiNtoxicated's importer/exporter for 3ds max. I just flashed my drive and reinstall to work past the 30-day trial.
About the details, it's really just the art style. Sc2 can handle quite some polys and I do believe it's possible to go a bit less cartoony(or bulky). But still, this carrier had to at least be somewhere along the lines of the current sc2 art style.
I had to look and glance at those buildings while making the textures and normal maps. Those details are actually just normal mapping in action. SC2 engine is pretty good, especially since it can render a cinematic style like what we have seen in WoL.
And it's very easy to use!
This art is actually one of my references while making this model.
No one saw that unfinished model though like some patches ago. We had that thread about icons and models but this wasn't in. Maybe they accidentally included this in a patch?

Thanks. What I basically meant is that you've managed to do a model that's both more simple and less busy AND less cartoony than your typical SC 2 model. So it really feels more like the units in the first StarCraft, where also the separation between team colour and the unit's basic colour was much more crisp and clear.

GNA, that Carrier model is simply awesome. Someone needs to send this shit to Blizzard and fast and make them put it in as the actual model for the Carrier.
