Okay I really don't get it, didn't nova hunt down the spectres in WOL? I remember there was a mission where we destroyed the terrazine refinery that helped make the spectres. Seriously, Blizzard, wtf. Stop f'ing up the storyline already.

If you don't know about the "split canon", I'll explain it simply. When you get to play Breakout, you have a choice: Tosh (Breakout) or Nova (Ghost of a Chance). If you play Breakout, Tosh breaks out former spectres from prison, and Tosh joins the Raiders for good. If you play Ghost of a Chance, you wreck Tosh's spectre-making factory, and Nova kills him. Needless to say, these are incompatible endings.

You played Ghost of a Chance. Not everyone played that choice. In fact, Blizzard said Breakout is the canon choice.

i dont think its the dominion since nova works for them
and the facility where kerrigan was is obviously terran
so possibly duran?

Nobody has to be "holding her". To me it looked like she was at some sort of science facility, most likely doing something to augment or help control her powers.

Might be holding her. Knowing the love story crap they like....probably Valerian observing her there to make sure she's really human now and the extent of her powers. Then Raynor being all gushy asking to let her have her freedom, etc. And Kerrigan herself possibly acting like an innocent doe-eyed girl trying to get Raynor to set her free....SO THAT SHE CAN KILL BILLIONS MORE!!!! (LOL. I hope.)

Here's a question. While Valerian might have been an unwitting pawn of his father's, he did (officially) rebel against the emperor, along with General Warfield. What becomes of them? They had half the Dominion fleet, and probably most of it was destroyed.

Somehow I doubt Valerian would hang around Raynor. I suspect a ghost (or spectre) will gently probe his mind, sowing doubt between him and his father.

Yeah, I also thought valerian was a good guy, the "light behind the shadow". But from what Valerian did in WoL, getting Raynor and his dad face to face, seems to me he's aiming for the safe route in playing both sides.

If he fails, "Raynor coerced me, see, you were right, I was weak." If Mengsk fails, he wins.

About Raynor and Nova together on this missions, it's not unlikely, imo. Say, okay, Raynor did help tosh break out some of the spectres, then Nova comes in to nuke their terrazine base, then kill tosh as tosh betrays Raynor after, blaming him for Nova's actions?

Split storyline can be unified maybe?

edit: Of course, change voodoo doll to detonator and bomb hidden in the hyperion, and Tychus almost dying trying to diffuse it.

Here's something to think about:

How did Valerian know that the Artifact will de-infest Kerrigan? Or about the Artifact's existence in the first place for that matter? From the Moebius Foundation obviously. But then we know with a pretty strong degree of certainty that the Moebius Foundation is actually run by Duran (most probably masquerading as Dr. Narud), and that he is responsible for the "research" that uncovered the Artifact and its properties (it's unlikely that Dominion scientists would have managed to discover all of that by themselves).

So the question is, how much does Valerian really know and how far do his ambitions reach? He may indeed want just to supplant his father, but you have to wonder just how deep is he in Duran's confidence and which side would he take in the greater scheme of the Dark Voice/Hybrids vs. Everyone Else conflict.

Actually this possibility makes me excited again about the SC 2 story despite all that transpired in WoL, finally a character with the potential for deeper and more complex agenda and motivation than apparent on the surface. Who knows, maybe the Blizzard writing team still have some good stuff up their sleeves.

Guys... This is simple. Valerian is infested by Samir Duran also known as Dr. Narud ..

Zeratul reading the prophecy finds out that the key to stop the Dark forces who want to consume the entire Universe is Kerrigan.

Zamir wants to deinfest Kerrigan so she pose no threat to their plans..
But I am pretty sure that Kerrigan will return more powerfull but not so evil in HotS...

Who knows, maybe the Blizzard writing team still have some good stuff up their sleeves.

I think the real problem is in the amount of things they hide from the player. Information in-betweens that would make the story deeper.

It's like they're holding back and prefer to release a book or something that would describe the entire trilogy in more detail.
