I've recently begun playing a browser game that has a different approach than other games regarding AP points.
Die2Nite is a game that doesn't give you points per hour or minute, but points per day. Your collaborative team of 40 "citizens" have to work together by communication to survive the nights of a zombie invasion. You WILL die.. eventually. The goal is to see how long it takes. Every time you die, your soul goes to another town to try and do better.

By joining under another person, you can join their coalition and eventually build up a core group that plays together, making coordination much better. They have freemium bonuses, but it's not required to do better IMHO. It just adds flavor. I'm having a perfectly fun time without any money paid.
Please register in the link above if you want to try it. I'll be willing to share/answer questions here and will try to get you in my next town (which I think may be tomorrow, cause our town may very well be screwed tonight...
Are you in? If so, reply here and we'll use this as our conversation hub.
