We pollute and we pollute a lot! Tychus sums it up; if you have an industry, you will pollute. It is important that we keep taking measures to protect the environment. I don't see why I would have to explain that to you or anyone...

Business that pollutes are already running away from our country and not because they have to take green actions but because the work force in developing countries is cheap. Business that are still here and that pollutes will stay because of the natural resources. It doesn't matter if you tax them more so that they take green actions, they will stay either way.

??? We are actually low for a developed country FYI in the CO2 range if that is what your talking about. Everything else is very low as well. Green jobs crap is not the future in Canada if other countries wouldn't follow it anyway. As for the health issue I don't know if you know this but it was the NDP that put a cap on the doctor's wage that scares doctors away from ontario.

Hah! I was waiting for that. What you are missing here is that our population is a lot smaller than those countries. It's all a matter of how you look at it. The reality is that India has a population of 1,210,193,422. We have a population of 34,440,000. The emission for India in 2010 is roughly 6300 million metric tons according to this graphic while we have 800. Do the ratios, we are emitting 4 times more million metric tons per capita than India. We are worst than anyone else on this list.

Do you know what the freaking cap was? More than 300 000$ for Christ sake! Increasing the cap is just a lazy way to make current doctors work more without taking the initiative of actually training and hiring more doctors. If they leave the province, fine. Don't worry, everyone wants to be a doctor these days (at 300k, who wouldn't want to?).

Furthermore, the NDP wasn't in power. If they were able to pass a law, that's because the majority of elected members approved it.

Per captia means nothing when you have looser environmental restrictions in a country compared to another. Also one the cap issue you don't think that people that go to school for almost 3 decades of their lives deserve to make a higher wage? A wage that should not be capped as a salary. And let me tell you as an ontarian living in a rural area, we need doctors more than you need them in your big city life and furthermore if you think that this doctor is great, you better get your ears checked and your eyes too because when you need treatment and the doctors can't help you because its not in their interest when they can do a job thats easier for the same wage.

No, they are people just like any other. Just because they worked harder and had more discipline than someone that works at McDonald's as a career doesn't mean they're more important. We can no longer afford to judge a person by their contributions to society like the Canadian Capitalist pigs in the government do. A man is a man is man and simply by existing they deserve to partake in every reward given to those who work harder. Such is their God given right for being pushed out of their mother's womb.

I wouldn't be too ashamed-while it's a trend that has to change in the "first world," it's to be expected that a MEDC would emit more greenhouse gasses than a LEDC on a per capita basis. Not that this alleviates guilt-Australia has the highest per capita emission basis in the world (as of 2009 at least), our net pollution only kept in check by our low population of under 22 million. And of course, our government wants to increase our population...never mind the natural population increase, that most people want to settle in the already relatively dense area of the east coast and our inland has a low carrying capacity.
