    Huh, Friend of mine tried that 2-3 times, he died to 2 base aggression every time, or to the 2 base Nydus with Roaches. I think it isn't viable, at least not on the top level.

    Definitely true. But it can work at lower levels. Maybe not masters. I did it in diamond but even then might not be the best strategy in diamond.

    EDIT: Most cases i forced it to work against 2 base aggression by getting a defensive hidden dark shrine. Then once 1-2 carriers are out i use them to stay alive. This happened in the game i played vs hydras.

    EDIT: LOL. Just realised my reputation text "JackhammerIV is a 2 HP Banshee with 50 kills". Can't believe they used one I suggested.

    I used carriers as a "fake" thing. Worked extraordinary well.

    First phoenix harras into expansion + fleet bacon. He scouted my carrier so I continued to build another and then I just went 2 robo and charge + blink and some dt (+ lots of uppgrades, I love uppgrades) I think I accidentally lost 2 colossus for free though because of his corrutors. But not sure I were so bissy with other stuff :P

    But I guess if he hadn't scouted it I could have had gotten quite a large force of carriers up and running.

    Fixing Carriers would be easy. Bring back the repair function for Interceptors so they aren't so easily destroyed, and increase the Carrier's range so they can launch Interceptors earlier. Either that or shave 20-30 seconds off its build time so it doesn't take forever to get.

    As for the MS, that would take a whole reworking of the unit to fix at this point.
    Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

    Yeah I noticed that, 35 second phoenix vs 120 seconds carrier. I was like WTF when I just massed chronoboost without result. Where when I chronoboosted a phoenix it felt like 0 time.

    I don't think it's the carrier that needs change, it's the actual interceptors. I would suggest them building slow over time for free (including repair). And a "hold attack" button like ghost has.

    i can remeber facing carriers liek ONE time on ladder, and i got completely crushed. Hydras kind of cant catch them, and using infestor and / or corrupter, you get like one chance dto deminish carrier numbers, else thell stay in your face and kill everything as it comes out, not to mention, snipe the tech.

    meh. build a got damn voidray. +to armoed and +2 to massive and surely a freaky return on upgrades once its charged up...

    The vortex is exactly why i don't make MS with carriers. I don't want to make any voidrays. It cuts into my carrier production time. I think i might get like a third stargate as standard and pump voids out of that one. And apparently fungal can catch interceptors as they leave the carrier.

    Maybe in another month i'll revisit it. But for now...nah.

    id like to see MS and carrier used with defensive recalls though; go in deep wtih carreirs to snipe some econ and AA-tech, wait for the enemy AA to move up underneath you, then recall back home to safety!

    Problem is, Carriers are huge, and anyone with bare minimum of map Control(just Xel'Naga towers) will spot them, so you won't reach their base, they will be the ones that snipes your Carriers, not vica versa.
