If you care enough to read this reply, then it means that you've read Genopath's reply. He said pretty much all I can say.
I do agree though, I'm really curious about the reply for this case that provoked this post.

Though many of you have listed excellent strategies to counter this, I must say there is still (as a zerg player myself) an enormous level of frustration considering it requires you to massively outplay someone who is simply macroing, turtling, a-click (except for siege but seriously that is hardly micro).

Yeah. Zerg is harder to play. That's just how the game was made. And protosses share similar frustration against terran. All they have to do is MMM+ghosts+vikings. Protoss has to basically complete their whole tech tree almost.
Perhaps you might want to switch races if you feel frustrated that you have to outplay your opponents so much.

.. i lost one of those games to a lower rated opponent just yesterday, i know the feeling; once that mechanized army roles out with a solid composition and good ratio of tank/Thor you need to be somewhat ready for it and heading in the right direction as well as remain fucking ice-cold in making the right call on where and how to fight.
... cant afford to go straight into panic-mode and forget longterm plans, and just throw countless of ineffective waved of units to attempt to save some hacheries.. If at all possible, you need to get that tier3 tech of choice out while stalling, if not, calculate how far you need to allow them to advance before you can feel confident in meeting them; stall/harass/counterattack as possible, but above all, keep injecting, making units and move drones OL's and crawlers to safety!
it sounds like alot and it can seem as though it requires more of you than of your opnent. but really, if you start planning for this mindset as soon as yo see a Thor, an armory or better yet more than one factory... then youll know to drone and tech properly while you can and to not over-invest in mutas.. if you get over that hurdle and do it right, youll beat the mech push decisively and go on to win quite comfortably.
... on close positions it can be pretty damn rough though, ill give you that.
