I miss old archons. The effects of the game used to be very photo realistic, now they feel very artistically drawn and don't feel as real.

The new archon vs the old on, you can feel the flames exploding off the old archon, all they really had to do was remove his legs. But the new one... urgh doesn't have the same feel.

Most of the voice samples also come off as a 2nd rate mod project. The zealot/immortal one are like "What...??...."
Pretty crazy how much has changed from that point to retail release.

It's no longer available to download, but I think the Zerg reveal would have been painful to sit through again - Zerg got the most dramatic change of the three races, I'd say....the half eaten cinnamon roll as the Spawning Pool used to just kill me.

Kick to watch the Battle Reports tho....the original Infestor models - Proton Charge - D5 charges on the Reapers.....and I always forget that it was that battle on Blistering Sands where, "Terrible Terrible Damage!" was born.

Hey I liked those sounds. Better than the new ones IMO.

Warp Ray's "the enemy has been purged" was win.

The phoenix lisp was kind of lame though.

For the demonstration video, instead of the Archons steamrolling the Marines, they should've had a Ghost EMP it and one Marine pick it off That or it being completely useless (i.e. have it attack just about any other unit besides Marines )

.....and Sentries complete with 'tail' (I think still Nullifiers then)
