I wouldn't equal TeamLiquid with their forums. Anybody can post there and like in the fighting games community, the discussion is heated.
I mean, every gamer knows of Streetfighter III and that it's well liked and famous but... there's actually a lot of hate toward this game. Like "Crap game ever, so shitty it etc..."
Just wait when Starcraft 2 actually comes out >.<

Agreed. Every single thing pretty much all the TL guys do is complain about it. 1 ID account they complain because they can't smurf. No chat channel. I mean wow so far they haven't really said anything that they do like its just a bunch of whiny people over there its kind of why i'm done posting there :P.
As for my opinion on this I don't see a problem with it all I see in the chat channels is a bunch of spam anyway.

Can't speak for all of them, but while I don't like THIS change, I do like:
- The new leagues they talked about, sounds fantastic.
- AMM. Once upon a time I was silly enough to not want AMM. *shudder*
- Customizable unit looks (you know, the unlockable decals and stuff, might be cute).
- The filters for custom games - very, very good. Being able to host a game in private and then making it public, is already in SC (but not in WC3, to my surprise, I was sure it was :S), but it's good.
- Marketplace. It has potential!
Don't like:
- Lack of chat channels.
- Lack of LAN. And apparently, neither does the Blizzcon crowd.
- Lack of online replays (did anyone see how Dustin Browder COMPLETELY dodged that question during the panel? made me sad).
- Lack of WaaaghTV/HLTV (basically, being able to stream games live via the client, like tonnes of people do with WaaaghTV in WC3).
- Not sure how they intend the 1 account thing to work. If it's 1 master account, and then you can make multiple IDs, then it's fine. But if you can only have one account, and you are stuck with that for the rest of eternity... Not cool. I like making new IDs :/
Aren't you put off by the constant "Not at launch", "We'd like to add that later, totally!", "It's gonna be amazing"? I am REALLY excited for the game, I think it looks *amazing*, but all the hype about Bnet 2.0 has so far resulted in mostly let downs. They keep saying how it's gonna be "revolutionary", and then add all the "not at launch" comments.
I don't have facebook, myspace or twitter, so I guess I don't see what's so fantastic about making Bnet 2.0 into all of those. I was expecting revolutionary in terms of enhancing the gaming part of the experience I guess - automated tournaments, intergrated WaaaghTV, return of online replays etc.

Really? Has Blizzard *actually* said that battle.net was going to be revolutionary? I don't recall them saying that anywhere.

There NEEDS to be some kind of public channels I think... I don't hang around channels like Brood War Swe-1 much (although back in the day, it was very, very active) but it's not like it's uncommon for someone to ask questions if they are new in these places (happens a lot on ICCUP for instance, ie "What's MOTW").
It's one of the things I hated the most while playing the DoW2 beta on Games For Windows Live - no chat lobbies ANYWHERE. It feels so empty![]()
