Of course they'll be priced differently; base game vs. expansion set. The comparison is indirect to an extent, but given they are 2 parts of the same whole, we will not be able to grade HotS without making comparisons to WoL. The story will be critiqued for improvements (if any), which requires comparison work. Any new units shift balance and comparisons will be made to WoL's balance. It's not a cut and dried apples and oranges situation; more like legs vs torso.

it can be story<=>story, balance<=>balance, bnet<=>bnet, etc....
And this is a question that its based on people believes about how HOTS will turn out and based on current WOL make a prediction if its going to be better or worse.

Anyways, it's actually the rabid fans that are the most disappointed. We had much higher expectations than the average gamer. The average gamer loved every element of the game, even the story. I know you were just trying to do your usual jab but I felt like pointing out the obvious
