My opinion, is that they should extend their arms out and shoot beams from their palms. I think that would look great, animation-wise, design-wise, and would be less "cliche."

Nah... optic blasts work just fine. However, if hilarity/cheeziness is the desired effect, they should make the lasers run in parallel as they both sweep across. That's classic Superman heat vision!

If it's humor they're looking for... each eye should lock on an individual target and follow it around... now THAT would be silly

Adding some cheesy elements in the single player is fine, SC1 had a bit of that.
I just think it would be cooler if he actually shot lasers from his wrists.

Wonder if you can do that in the editor?

If you can create the necessary attack animations, I don't see why not. Incidentally, I'd like to point out that the attack animation of the Zealot statues is different from that of the regular Zealot.

Why not have them throw psi "fireballs" with their hands? That would be a very cool attack animation for giant statues.
