And yes, SAMUS, there was a shutdown in 95 and 96, because the Republicans were being their stupid selves and thought it'd be a great way to earn political points, forgetting for the fact that people actually like visiting national parks and having toxic waste sites cleaned up. Despite the fact that a good chunk of our current population has gone off the deep end, they'd still rather not risk the same thing again, but they also have the Teabaggers to appease at the same time.
