    Default Federal Government Shutdown Imminent

    About

    Cost
    http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news...ts-lights-off-

My brothers, both working at the VA, are having major talks with co-workers. Both regional and local offices are in panic, and expect to lay off a large portion of people, and the remainder to be furloughed for 5 days per day of shutdown to off set costs. Currently the system is already administratively in hell of a hand basket, and after the shutdown they may turn off benefits completely for X amount of time.

Have you had any personal experiences with the present or past (1995/1996) government shutdowns? Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the shutdown?

I got my shotgun and a bird's nest ontop of my satellite dish. I can kill any Zombies that come on my front lawn.

    I am VERY optimistic.

Indeed, government just gets in the way. Who needs meat inspectors anyways?
Superior capability in language does not necessarily equate to superior intelligence...but it certainly doesn't help your argument if you sound stupid.

What's the opposite of anarchy? Too much government is what we have right now. Everything has it's place in moderation - but people are drawn to working in government for selfish purposes... and they're willing to do anything to build it up, and keep it alive.

I wasn't making a political statement. I was pointing out how unnecessary it was for DSquid to point out such an obvious fact.

    Oh wait,

Hey everyone! The sky is blue!

Good maybe you'll lay off your border patrol, so we can get in easier, get cheap stuff and leave.
