Strassman indeed sounds too "smooth" and suave. Her delivery lacks the contempt and amusement of the original, it's just arrogance taken to the nth degree (too much and too "in your face"). It takes most of the impact out of the scene.
It is however, better than the demo tape.

All in all though, I sincerely hope they bring Glynnis back.

Well, speaking purely from a nostalgic perspective too... it's supposed to be one of those "Oh my god it's Kerrigan!" moments. And well, due to the slightly new look, and now the new voice it's going to be one of those "Oh my god... is that Kerrigan?" moments.

Just won't have the same impact. And well, you want to make a good first impression in this instance.

If you think I'm 'crying'. Then you're an idiot. If I was being anal and hard headed, I could understand your attitude, but I'm not... so you know what? You get over it. Voice acting is important, consistency is even more important, and Karen Strassman, while fairly talented. Just isn't the same.

I mean, I love Kerrigan, I was ok with the new voice of Raynor, but I knew that lot's of fans were unhappy with that change. But with Kerrigan being the main person, the main girl that is writing the story told in SC2 by her actions, it's really hard for me to get used with Karren Strassman. Her voice is ok but my emotions and expectations about SC2 are higher than that.
If Kerrigan was for real I would marry her, like for real. I just love her.

But Kerrigan is one of the pivotal characters. And characters inform the plot. In fact, didn't Metzen say in the last interview that for him the relationship between Raynor and Kerrigan was the heart of StarCraft?

P.S. To extrapolate, with the recasting of Kerrigan you lose an important emotional tie to the character, and thus to the overall story. The significance of any great cataclysmic event is nulled if the characters affected are artistically compromised.

Their relationship has nothing to do with her voice, which is VERY similar to Glynnis' version. It's just that it's not Glynnis that you guys are up in arms about, not the fact that the voice isn't good.
