I for SURE have the passion, I'm very if not too passionate about the stuff I want lol. as for what department I want to be in I'm not 100% sure. I've never been all the good with programming and stuff but that's prob because of the content I was working on. I'm thinking more of theory, game mechanics, ideas, maybe some programming, or lore. I know this sounds lame but I have a HUGE imagination and I know what works well in games and thing revolving around that. Ask him if a lot of stuff requires a lot of programming skills, because I'll for sure acquire them if needed.
