I was going to ignore that statement. Obviously, he played it on a low difficulty, if at all. Brutal difficulty is far from short, even if you're high diamond.

No doubt about that. Some games released nowadays can be beat in 10-12 hours, offer no achievements, and feature a weak multiplayer experience. For $60 you're getting an incredibly polished game with lots of entertainment value. It has a deep single player campaign, competitive multiplayer with several game modes, countless achievements and rewards, a map editor and endless potential for custom games. That's way more effort than most developers would ever dream of putting in their game. And to top it off Blizz is releasing updates for free and constantly supporting the game.
In light of all this, a $180 investment for the complete picture over a 3+ year span doesn't seem unruly at all. I'd say they're deserving of that price tag...and I'm usually quite serious when it comes to my money.

Even the story is good by RTS standards. RTS stories are usually utter shit (Dawn Of War, lulz) and, if there's a story you find better than SC2, I'd be willing to bet it was another Blizzard game![]()

Yeah Dawn of War was really bad story-wise. All C&C games have basically become campy jokes, which is fine. But it's tough to forget how compelling the original SC and BW stories were imo. I just really enjoyed the voice acting in those compared to 2, but HoTS and LoTV can definitely redeem it considering it will be focusing on different characters.
I really think LoTV will have the best story as it will end the trilogy, and come on, Protoss is just way more interesting lore-wise.
Back to the original topic though, it would be funny if they mentioned people bootlegging GomTV matches as well in this article, as that is also a sign of self-entitled gamers. I'm not saying people should simply pay to watch GomTV, I'm saying they should either pay to watch it or just believe it's not worth their money and watch other free replays on YouTube that aren't illegally shown. If it's not worth your $5 or $10 then it's not worth your $5 or $10 dollars, so I don't understand the complaints about charging for it.

Compared to the rest of the "cases" bootlegging matches is far, far, far down the list. The others in the article are some of the most illogical, hypocritical, and down right retarded things I've ever heard.
Which makes it even more hilarious that the "trilogy" controversy was put on here. I remember having to deal with dozens of those who, despite my sincerest efforts, just wouldn't listen to reason and misinterpreted every shred of information like they wanted to be pissed off.
Somehow, these people disappeared a few months before release though. I wonder where they went?

Homeworld.
But yeah. I can't vouch for CnC as I haven't played the games yet, but ES's campaigns were generally excuse plots wrapped around enjoyably generic RTS levels (or in the case of AoE II, excuse plots very loosely inspired by true stories).
And then, after Halo Wars came out, the studio was mercifully euthanized.
Company of Heroes was great, and the campaign was gripping, but it wasn't exactly a great story like the original StarCraft was. Haven't played DoW, so I can't remark about that...
Any other RTSs?
That's between me, my garden, and the FBI.

well, to be honest, in my opinion the C&C Tiberium series were good and interesting, until EA bought Westwood. After that the game and storyline were kind of...dumb -.-
