No, but we have an inkling, they went in a different direction creatively. If Glynnis not being the voice of Kerrian will bother you guys that much, just stick to SC1. You have NO IDEA what the reasons are for Blizzard changing actors.
Now, we could get to some point in the game where our new actress sounds OUTSTANDING, and I'll eat my words if that happens. But as of right now, it's just another unnecessary change. I doubt Glynnis asked for too much money, I doubt they all hate eachother, I think Blizzard just wanted to go into another direction creatively (especially with the new voice director).
There's also no way this is an elaborate scheme to hide the fact that Glynnis is coming back to play the character...
100% of the time, in StarCraft (and in StarCraft 2 actually) Kerrigan has been played by Glynnis Talken. The reasons for the recasting seem dubious and strange to me at this point, and is simply a continuation of Blizzard's strange tendency to recast parts for little to no reason. (Though none of their SC2 recasts have been that bad really, much better than their World of WarCraft ones anyway.)Honestly lets face it, Glynnis voiced Kerrigan for ONE game and ONE expansion over 10 years ago. It's not like she has been voicing Kerrigan for years and years in many different games. She was the voice actress ONCE.

Damn, what the fuck is with all of this "fear of change" bullshit I keep seeing everywhere?
The only thing we really "fear" is wasting energy on changing things that don't need to be changed. I mean, really -- can you think of any good reason to replace an actress who has done the job since the beginning, knows exactly how to do it, and is fully prepared to come back at any time with an actress who has never played the part, is not guaranteed to be able to do the part, and has clearly failed at the first attempt?
No, not all change is bad, but it sure as hell ain't all good either. Just look at nuclear fusion. It can be good -- a source of power to help society thrive -- or it can be bad -- a method of terrible chaos and devastation. This example can be seen in all aspects of life, from advanced science to silly little video games.
However, to show you that I myself am not afraid of change......
The new chick's got potential, but she's also got a lot of work to do. She needs to not try so hard, and she needs to move to a more alto range of voice. She needs to just let the words flow out of her mouth like poisoned honey. I hope these changes don't scare her away from the job. But if they do, I'm sure Glynnis would still be up for the job.

Anyone know which voice actress did kerrigan in this kerrigan vs zeratul cinematic?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Or_-jn5AnoI
Cuz that's the one I want, when she emerges from the shadows at the end, her voice sends chills down my back. *That* my friends is Kerrigan. If it's Glynnis as I suspect it is, then bring her the f*ck back! The Queen Bitch of the Universe can't suddenly turn into a little whiny runt.
/edit wow, i hadn't even listened to this new girl before I said whiny little runt, but that's kind of what she sounds like. Kerrigan was hands down my favourite character in SC and now she's just going to disappoint. It's like having Stallone play the Terminator in Terminator 2. Sure he's big and could have probably done it, but you want Arnie to hit that shit.

Exactly. Although it'd be a little strange at first, I wouldn't mind if Blizzard hired a new voice actor for Kerrigan. However, the voice actor has to be able to fit the part. Strassman is sssssnaky on her s's and puts way too much emphasis on I's. Like I said before, she sounds like she's trying too hard to be tough, when the Kerrigan we know doesn't have to talk like that, because she knows that she's a badass manipulative bitch (and isn't that why we all love her), she doesn't have to talk like she has something to prove. Besides, if she talked like that in BW, I think Mengsk, Raynor and the Protoss would've taken their chances fighting the UED without her. But no, she was calm, logical, and manipulative, and definitely didn't converse with them as if they bugs, even if she did feel that way.
Another way to think about it. In that voice clip, Glynnis talks more as if she's talking to herself, which is why she doesn't put an exorbitant amount of emphasis on herself, while Karen talks as if she's talking to others, like she has something to prove. "Don't you know who IIII am? IIII am the Queen of Bladesssss, bitch."

Guys, do keep in mind this is one line from a voice demo. Voice demos rarely SOUND good. They just give the person they're sending the demo to an example of their range and/or some of the roles they've played and/or their talent.
They're not meant to hold up as an example of the performer's best line as the character.
Though, I wonder, anyone else think that maybe they used the Brood War ending speech as a template to audition actors?
