How did Tychus find Raynor?

Tychus just randomly shows up in the bar. How did he track down the most wanted man in the Dominion? Why didn't Mengsk try to stop Raynor when it became clear he was working against his interests (eg the entire Dominion arc). Yes, I get why Tychus was implanted in Raynor's crew. It also makes no sense that Mengsk lets Raynor do whatever he wants. It'd be akin to someone going deep undercover, finding out the gang is going to blow up a police station and the police doing nothing about this.

because tychus was using a friendly blue armor of the Raiders, not a bad red dominion armor... O.o

It's also funny that the ease at which Tychus finds him also happenes to preclude the notion that any Dominion agent could've done the same thing and wasted poor ol' Jim many moons ago...

The reason Mengsk didn't just kill Raynor is simple - Raynor is not the problem. His rebellion is. Killing Raynor would do nothing in terms of elliminating the rest of the crew aboard the Hyperion and presumably his many supporters spread across the Fringe Worlds (who aren't as easy to find). Rather, killing Raynor might simply cause them to retaliate by escalating their destructive efforts.

yea, but it should have been apparent early on that the Rebellion is literally a dude in a battlecruiser. When Raynor started acting against Mengsk's interests hardcore, Mengsk should have simply warped in a dozen battlecruisers and reduced the Rebellion to molten slag. Right there, you've eliminated every major facet of the Rebellion in 10-15 minutes. FFS Mengsk, your spy is Raynor's number 3. Use it for ffs. Let out the fact that Dominion spies within the Rebellion were following Raynor for 6 months, 8 months, whatever, and you can effectively quash any further attempts at rebellion.

Perhaps Mengsk had this in mind for a long time. He didn't just use Findlay as a spy (in fact, he spied pretty poorly, all things considered) but was using this convoluted plan of Valerian's to kill Kerrigan.

So how's the Confederacy's rebellion troubles going these days?

right, but that's now how dictatorships work. If Raynor stuck to the small time, nickel and dime shit was he pulling, I could see Mengsk letting him get away with it. But when Raynor starts stealing Dominion super-weapons and instigates a riot on Korhal, somewhere along that thread, Mengsk should have intervened and stopped the madness. The Confederacy fell because of a confluence of events, not just because of the Sons of Korhal. Mengsk should know better than that. Who else has the resources like Raynor (aka a super fucking battleship). Slag the Hyperion, destroy the Rebellion bases and capture all high ranking Rebellion officers. That makes much more sense than letting Raynor steal the Dominion's newest superweapon, instigating a rebellion on Korhal and making Mengsk look impotent.
