    They have four ranged infantry units whereas in SC1 they only had two, with one of those units (the Ghost) hardly ever being used. Hellion covers the role of the Firebat.

    The Immortal is about the same price as a Tank in SC2. It's the main counter for Protoss against Tanks. So they cost about the same but Immortals kill Tanks with ease. I still see a role for the Tank...
