    Re: Dev update: HotS Multiplayer

I have to dissagree. Having a mirror match (or any match) revolve around a single unit/strategy (tank wars in this case) is generally not a good idea in the long run and results in matchups becoming...
  2. Re: Plothole resolution in the Starcraft universe

But it actually DID need latent psionic ability in order to fully combat the Protoss, or at least it strongly believed it did:

That was taken from 'The determinant' in the original manual. ...

    Re: Economics

That's what they were saying in the early 1900's, then there was a tiny little mix up with a certain Archduke & his wife...

  4. Re: Plothole resolution in the Starcraft universe

    Don't.:(

In any case she had Tassadar, Zeratul & Raynor on the ropes when Aldaris & Artanis showed up with a protoss fleet & chased her off. Presumably she still hadn't left Char then, as at the...
  5. Re: Plothole resolution in the Starcraft universe

As loathe as I am to refer to it, that question is answered in QoB.

Perhaps assimilation isn't neccessarily equivalent to destruction? In a way, it could be said that the zerg have already...

    Re: Protoss and Terran Technology

Protoss appear to have no qualms about using terran weapons if the situation calls for it. (Firstborn, frontline)

Also, it's heavily implied that many recent Terran technological breakthroughs...

    @Robear

    Well there is this:

Bear in mind that Tychus is 6'7 or just over 2m. In this pic it looks like Raynor...

No actually he's pretty much right on. Even in her infested form, Raynor (without his armor) was still slightly taller than her. (QoB novel)

Re: How is the Dominion "Powerful" in WoL?

The sad thing is, that IS the answer I'd most likely get were I to ask, or something along those lines.

Then again that 'barcraft' might actually be something that could take off, in the right...

Re: How is the Dominion "Powerful" in WoL?

He shouldn't even last THAT long! :D IMHO, he's no longer even worthy of such a grand finale. His continued presence at this point only serves to pointlessly drag the pacing of the story along. ...

Re: How is the Dominion "Powerful" in WoL?

I think the real question, ultimately isn't why the dominion is still the most powerful terran faction after all it's setbacks and defeats, or even why Mengsk is still it's emperor.
    Rather I think...

    Re: Unit Pictures

Love what I'm seeing so far! Especially the starship/flier scales.

At first I was inclined to think that the scout was way too large, especially when compared to the phoenix & wraith. But...

Re: Why the SC2 Story Was a Disappointment

IIRC, nicol bolas once described WOL best as: 'A mishmash of disconnected plot threads culminating in a non-ending.'

That being said, even a slightly greater feeling of consequence and urgency...

Re: Why the SC2 Story Was a Disappointment

While he might've gone a bit far in calling Kerrigan a complete idiot in Broodwar, he does have a point in attributing Kerrigan's gains in BW more to the stupidity of her allies rather than any...
  15. Re: Incompetent Enemies & You Always Win Syndrome

In all fairness it could be argued that ending the Broodwar on such a dire note was primarily where blizzard went wrong.

By killing off most of their main characters, closing the 1st saga with...
  16. Re: Incompetent Enemies & You Always Win Syndrome

IIRC, The Hyperion was the only actual 'warship' Raynor ever had access to. The rest were just transports or supply ships (it states it in the novel I believe).

Re: Can a gauss rifle make a body explode?

There's also power requirements to factor in too. The larger/more massive your projectile is, the more energy required to accelerate it to hypersonic velocities.

Of course that depends on how exactly you define 'free will'. For example, I remember that Seven of Nine from 'Voyager', while as a borg ostensibly not possessing 'free will' did on occassion in...

    Poll: Re: Warhound Model Poll

No it doesn't. It looks like a really bad Diablo concept pureed in a blender, overcooked, consumed and shat out by a mangy pit bull with rabies. Hideous and repulsive to be sure, but in all the...
  24. Re: Further proof of the legitimacy of the leaked ending (actually just a fun tidbit)

    Poll: Re: Warhound Model Poll

As I mentioned in another thread I like the concept: a goliath that can doesn't suck against ground targets, but the model has to go. It looks not only unappealing (not necessarily a bad thing) but...
