  1. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

Managed to get a friend to test out void rays in the unit tester for an all out battle. The results were terrible. The void ray army was absolutely abolished. Trying to pick off stalkers first didn't...

Re: Why so few Infestors in top ZvP ?

Haha.... we are kind of hijacking the OP's topic....

My DT's were quite nicely spread actually.... he only ever caught 1 DT with each fungal.... and he had a few misses. He also did a very nice...

Re: Why so few Infestors in top ZvP ?

Teching everything is kind of my strategy vs terran... works quite well actually with templer, colossi and phoenix's :P.

But yeah, I was kind of referring more to being able to do a tech switch...

Re: Why so few Infestors in top ZvP ?

Actually was just going to post a topic on this, but it was more in line with how to deal with mass infestors as I'm a protoss player :P.

Had a very interesting game whereby a player used mass...

Re: Zerg early options vs P

Actually, based on the site you attached, it does look like its worthwhile to mine in your main till 21 drones. Benefit of a 3rd drone is actually not too bad for the slightly further mineral patches...

Re: Zerg early options vs P

    @Hammy
You're probably right seeing your a zerg player and I'm toss :P.
Having said that, the next time you set your hatch down 2 squares away and start mining from it, watch your economy. You will...

Re: Zerg early options vs P

Regarding laying down the hatch, I do feel that you should lay down the 2nd hatch with enough space to put down a 3rd hatch in the ideal location. You don't have to be so precise though... a few grid...

Re: Zerg early options vs P

Actually, in bigger numbers, phoenix's can still pretty much hold their own. If they outnumber you 5-1, you're a goner, but 2 or 3 mutas for 1 phoenix, you can actually whittle them down and still...

Re: Zerg early options vs P

    @Thumper
Yeah, read the link Jackhammer posted, its quite informative.
Having said that, if you already know he has mutas in the air and is pretty much committed to a muta based army, you might...
  11. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

I agree with Todie. I use blink stalkers all the time. Using them works if your enemy had maybe 1-2 colossi max. Anything more and it tends to fail.
  12. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

@demosquid - I've tried that too... ie. sending stalkers in first... they just die. Stalkers don't hold up well vs anything except maybe hellions. They need a distraction. Collossi with their own...
  13. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

OK, I think I'm gonna change the plan a bit.
Maybe if everyone can give suggestions of mid to late game strategies... ie. plans that do not involve hoping to surprise your opponents or trying to end...
  14. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

Again, I'm TRYING not to go colossi.
And my 8 gate comment was in response to Demo's 6 gate being able to hold off a colossi army. I'm not saying its supposed to work. But yeah, once the opponent...

Re: How do Terran counter mass Zerg Air?

The 'shutting them down before they get there' argument is not really helpful... even in pro games, people reach broodlords.

Anyway, your simple answer is vikings. Just get loads of them. They...
  16. Re: Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

Hi Demosquid... how exactly do you use your speedlots/blinkstalkers? I've tried that combination a million times because I thought exactly as you did. Unfortunately, the truth of the matter is before...
  17. Lets theorycraft PvP - alternatives to colossi

So I'm getting really bored with this mirror match up. Zerg and terran fights are mighty fine and even if I lose, I feel like I had a good fight. PvP, even when I win, I pretty much feel slightly...
  18. Re: Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

Sigh.... nevermind... lets just agree to disagree. I know you mean well, but unfortunately, your advice wasn't that useful for me.... not that it doesn't work for you I'm sure... I just don't have...
  19. Re: Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

I'm actually really tempted to do just that.... 6 cannons with 1-2 templer.
  20. Re: Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

Actually, its precisely because I scout the spire that's why I get into trouble. Note that when I actually play phoenix vs muta, I usually do come out on top. However, the problem is when I get...
  21. Re: Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

@silencbank... thanks for the rather long read. Guess I'll give some of it a try..... that's a lot of strategies to 'try' though... will keep me occupied for some time.

    @Jackhammer... Splitting...
  22. Re: Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

Figured that was one of the solutions, but not having too much success with it. Either muta numbers are big enough to pick off the cannons, or they just start hitting the rest of my base/tech and its...
  23. Any tips on countering muta with stalker/templer?

Hi guys, I just need suggestions on how to do this... ie. using just stalkers and templer (maybe with some cannons) to fend off pesky mutas.

Before anyone starts blabbering that phoenix's are the...

Re: Any win is a good win, do you agree?

I find the definition of 'cheese' to be rather vague. Basically, I do detest players who go the same 'cheesy' strat every game without regard of whatever the opponent is doing. Eg. 6 pool...

    Re: Roach/Hydra melee attacks usefull?

In big battles, it gives your front row of hydra/roach just that little bit more dmg.... better than nothing, but not very significant.

In small battles, you would rather be kiting the zealots...
