Re: Valid reasons for lack of info?

If this turns out to be the case, I'll be glad to be returning to Blizzcon this year :).
  3. Re: Looks like Family beta did happen afterall!

I don't think most people were arguing whether the game was in "pre-beta", "friends and family beta/alpha" or "alpha" testing. I don't think anyone's saying what you're trying to make people sound...
  4. Re: July 24th showmatchs announced

It's really interesting seeing some of the WC3 pros being thrown into the mix. I can't wait to see some of my favorites from both games to battle it out :).
  5. Re: Looks like Family beta did happen afterall!

I don't see how this really relates to anything he said.

Re: Any SCL mods heading to Irvine CA this week?

While the last part of the beta isn't crucial for the function of the game, it will be continue to be a good time to balance the game. Blizzard will take the liberty to do so (as they have in the...

Re: Any SCL mods heading to Irvine CA this week?

You do realize that there is such a thing as a "patch", correct?

Having participated in past betas, alot of betas run right up until the release for future revisions of the software. Most...

I didn't know that people had though that this HADN'T taken place. Of course it has.

I feel like you're one of the few non-mod users on this site that can be trusted. Here's to hoping that you're not bullshitting :).

Re: Any SCL mods heading to Irvine CA this week?

NDAs are extremely common across the industry, you just don't know about them most of the time. You're not suppose to have knowledge of blizzard's press releases ahead of time, therefore they're not...

Re: Any SCL mods heading to Irvine CA this week?

Well, I believe you missed the point of why the beta is being (supposedly) delayed. It's not being delayed because of balance issues and whatnot, but more that the BNet 2.0 infrastructure isn't in...

Re: What will you do when Beta will hit?

Blizzard's previous betas haven't been covered with an NDA (or at least no one follows it), so you should see info everywhere as soon as the beta goes live.

Re: What will you do when Beta will hit?

I'm going to suck it up on the beta ladder. There's only one way to get better!

Re: No BETA yet? Blame NetEase.com

Which is obviously a bare-bones OS with nothing but webapps and blizzard approved applications (i.e. blizz games).

Re: Buying new pc - spec opinion

I wish they'd done this several years ago (although, I'd need to research this as I haven't heard anything about this). When I played WoW, certain parts of the game would inexplicably cause my video...

Re: Buying new pc - spec opinion

It's a simple fact that clock speeds on memory DEFINITELY help with performance. Being that memory is the bottleneck for most rigs, upping that speed is definitely a good choice.

    While it may not...

Re: Buying new pc - spec opinion

This may be a bit nit-picky, but I don't feel that nVidia cards are "much much weaker" than ATi cards. While you will get more bang for your buck with ATi cards, the nVidia cards usually have higher...

I can only see that going the same way that most xbox live games go with voice chat enabled, sadly :-/.

Re: No BETA yet? Blame NetEase.com

This has been speculated in other threads, but your link provides no direct relevance to the BETA being delay because of WoW server problems.

Re: Karune talks about the LAN issue

WoW has their own voice chat services, but everyone uses ventrilo. That's probably because their voice chat UI and implementation is less than great. This may end up being the case with SC2...

Re: Karune talks about the LAN issue

That's what I've been trying to say throughout the entire thread, but there seem to be many who disagree.

People use voice chat while lanning today (it depends on what's going on though). ...

Re: WoW players going to play SCII? Really?

I would look at this a little differently:

The reason I enjoyed wc3, WoW, and SC would be the competitive communities that surround those games. The number one thing that I enjoyed was raiding at...

Re: Karune talks about the LAN issue

Unless they change the way Battle.net currently works in this respect, then LANning after connection to Battle.net ALREADY works. Your internet connection is a non-issue after having a connection...
