In the mission, I got the sense of a guerilla war being raged, doing hit and runs, taking out the Purifier and leaving Selendis unwilling to waste more lives. Consider that the Viet Minh and Viet Cong humbled two superpowers in two different wars-not through direct confrontation, but through chipping away at the boulder. I don't think that requires a suspension of disbelief.
Then, that should have been the answer given. However, that wasn't; making it clear Blizzard did not view it as such. The issue here is that Blizzard clearly did not think their events through carefully. This can again be seen in their response to other 'fridge logic' issues such as how Raynor and Findlay managed to pull of that stunt of theirs on Korhal without Arcturus realising beforehand or why Arcturus would place Findlay as a mole in Raynor's group before all this went down. One would think that there would be at least somebody (if not everyone) who was responsible for checking the story and making sure it made sense altogether and would stand up to a degree of scrutiny before being finalised; especially since Blizzard knows they would be doing Q&A panels where such issues will be brought up in front of an international audience. Answers for such questions, which are central to the plot, should have been well rehearsed in advance, be it during development or after.

Seriously, though, that's going to be one of the first things we find out anyway, as soon as there's a campaign press event, so I thought it wasn't going to be too secretive of a subject. Kerrigan has to have something to do in between missions or it's going to be a really boring campaign.
But as for the second question, I was kinda irked about it. I won't kill SCL's relationship with Metzen by badmouthing him, but he and/or Brian could have easily said that Selendis had a minimal amount of forces expended for such a small encampment, and chose not to bother going all-in on such an honorable Terran commander and possible future ally to test his abilities.
Hi Zero,
I know you don't know the answer to the question, but just with your gut feeling (or your psionic link, or , if you were to reach out with the Force and feel), do you think the current writers are willing to put in the sufficient amount of work and zeal and improve the plot consistency for the expansions?
You've had more connection to them than most of us here, (however limited or not that connection might have been), so I figured might as well ask.
Thanks.

Did these questions also come up? For those who didn't catch the coverage in full, could you approximate the responses? I'd love (or not, based on how this is starting to sound...) to hear Blizzard's thoughts...

Re: Random Campaign Thoughts
Tychus was sent to spy on Jim and to bring him down until Arcturus changed his plans somewhere between Char and the return of the Zerg. Arcturus decided to play it safe and have limited contact with his prisoner mole cause he didn't want Tychus to have his cover blown. Makes sense? I guess it's plausible enough considering the way that Matt was suspicious of Tychus and how he did such a great job at hacking dominion comms. What I'd like to know is if Jim become a potential martyr before or after saving peoples ass from the zerg attacks. Personally, I'm choosing to believe that Jim was just joking to Tosh about that martyr bit.

My sound isn't working right now. Could you quote please? :)

I did hope that the size and nature of Raynor's forces would be clarified upon. Difficult to believe that he has so many Battlecruisers, they need factories to be produced and Raynor's group is "rag-tag". And if they were "liberated" then WHY is the Hyperion treated as his only ship? And when did he find the time to commandeer them anyway?
The Blizzard writing team really IS terribly inconsistent. This is actually what annoys me most about their recent games, the lack of persistence and clarity of vision.
I just found another one.
If you rescue Dr. Hanson's people at Haven, you end up fighting the protoss fleet off.... sure, but no one bothers to address why exactly the protoss were there in the first place. Shouldn't that of opened up another mission involving defending the colonists from already infested creatures? Either that or Hanson wouldn't have wanted to settle down. She would have wanted to do yet another rescue mission.
Unless of course blizz made the effort to convey that Hanson wasn't really settling down on Haven... she was actually just departing with one of the colonist ships that was leaving, while the rest of haven was getting taken over by infested terrans.
Re: Random Campaign Thoughts
If you side with Hanson, the infestation isn't really that bad and is easily contained, I think.

Good ol' Raynor! He always makes the right decisions which turn out alright in the end.
You choose Hanson, the infestation was always containable and the Protoss are just a bunch of overacting drama-queens. You choose Protoss, the infestation was always uncontainable and Hanson was a misguided fool who may or may not have been the cause of the problem in the first place.
I wish there was a hotline in which I could on Raynor to help me out with all the difficult decisions in my life...
