We already reconciled that my opinion is fact. Kim Jong Ill ain't got nothin' on me.
Most people do. I blame BET.
Lets see what Micheal Dorn has to say.
Even ignoring MD... by far ME2 has a better script.

Who or what is BET?

Does anyone know who won yet?
SC2 is on to the semi-finals (I believe) vs Mass Effect 2, Red Dead Redemption and Assassins Creed: Brotherhood
SC2 won. It's on an earlier link on the news page I think.

for shame ME 2 loose to such...failurefantastic graphic - noQuote:
Fantastic graphics, well integrated story, interesting units, and wildly different factions; Starcraft 2 manages to be thoroughly modern while remaining true to its roots, and creates an engaging and utterly replayable experience.
well integrated story - no
interesting units - some yes and some no
wildly different factions - yes
whoever writed fantastic graphics should go and play DoW 2 on ultra with all eye candy enabled... and it's a 4 year old engine
ah well, ME 2 won the GOTY award
Personally I agree with the result, as:
-Multiplayer: No, ME2 doesn't need it, but it's still something that it doesn't have. Not something to be compared, but something to be factored in.
There's also the fact that I felt that Mass Effect 2 essentially succumbed to sequel syndrome. Not so much in the case of sequels inevitably becoming worse (movies are the main case of this-usually after the second from the top of my head), but where they just don't 'feel' better, if that makes sense. Even if other games are technically superior, certain hallmarks tend not to be surpassed. The original Metal Gear Solid and Ocarina of Time are personal examples, how even if their sequels were technically superior, they don't feel as 'special.' To me, ME2 was an example of this-it ultimately failed to improve off its sequel to me and in some cases felt like it was taking a step backwards. Wings of Liberty however felt like a bona fide improvement in all areas.
There's also the feeling of iffyness that comes in Mass Effect 3-at the most, it would have a bit over one year of development. The last game I played with such a short development phase was Tiberian Twilight and...well, I'd rather not talk about that.:(
Of course, this is all opinion. Which is why I'm readying the flame retardant now.:D
ME2 has been out for a year. Assuming that the dev team started working on ME3 immediately after completeing 2 that would mean that it's been in development since maybe October last year. ME3 was only just announced and I believe Bioware estimated a late 2011 release at the earliest?
Sounds like a good amount of time for a sequel depending on how much time is spent modifying the game engine.
as far as I know ME3 will use the same engine with tweaks
as for the storyline, I won't speculate who attecked who in the first place or whatnot, it's too early to tell if Earth is the first target for reapers
BioWare will add epic battles to ME3, something like ME1 ending and for that I am totally sold, I want a war on a full fucking scale
I'm sure it'll never happen but I'd love to see a psuedo RTS minigame against the reapers in ME3. Something like a very simplified version of homeworld
Homeworld - Insane Battle Footage
They asked for community feedback on large battles vs small tactical missions and large battles won, so I'm pretty sure they stated there will indeed be many large battles in ME3.
For those saying it seems rushed.... Bioware has quality writers, and good writers don't need to 10 years to put together a mediocre script. In fact, good writers would write quickly as they are more passionate and interested in their works, unlike Blizzard's writing staff atm.
And if they are using the same graphic engine with minor tweaks then I don't see how two years is too quick at all. I think it's guna be an epic game... However, has anyone heard if this is supposed to be a finale or anything, or is it just considered another sequel for the time being?
Hilarious or sad?Quote:
This is actually hillarious because Blizzard have a former Bioware writer (ME2, Jade Empire) and he didn't get 10 years to write the script. Probably wasn't even 10 months.
I actually was aware there was a Bioware writer on the Blizz staff, but comparing the stories between the two leads me to believe he was not one of the good writers on the bioware staff or he was surrounded by too many bad writers on the Blizz staff to make a difference. So I did know what I was talking about...
