Does Force Field trap units inside?
I was watching Battle Report 3, and noticed one Disruptor is shooting at his own Force Field (happends at 5:20). Since the Force Fields are undestructible, i think it's shooting at a Zergling trapped inside.

EDIT: I can see the Zergling is "stuck" between the two Force Fields now. It's surely a bug, and not an intended mechanic.
Another thing i noted, is that the Banelings had to unburrow before they could explode in this build.

Both Force Fields are constantly pushing the Zergling aside, resulting in its immobilization in the overlapping domes.

IIRC a forcefield can be projected over a unit, but the unit may move out of it of it's own free will. It won't be able to re-enter the field though.

This is accurate, although I believe that any unit under Force Field should get trapped.

Agreed, trapping a unit would be great as well.
Although, it probably shouldn't work against massive units because it would be way too cheap dealing with expensive units like Ultralisks or Thors, and god forbid the graphic for putting a forcefield over a colossus.
Unless it acted like stasis, making the unit invulnerable.

Didn't they always have to? Allowing them to explode while burrowed would be so imbalanced.

That build (BR3) is old as hell. So clearly the new functions haven't been implemented yet.

Yes, they always had to, but not anymore. They can now explode while burrowed.
And how is it imbalanced? It's no difference fromt unburrowing to explode. I don't see what point you're trying to make.
Whether they explode underground or unburrow to explode doesn't make a difference, there's no stopping them from exploding and killing your infantry once they walk over a deathtrap.
They'll explode instantly either way, unlike Zerg units in SC1 which paused before doing anything after unburrowing.

Burrowing does not complete instantly (i.e. it takes more than 0 milliseconds from start to end of burrowing/unburrowing). Consequently, the ambushing player should theoretically require a tad bit of timing to maximize damage. Whether this minuscule delay has a noticeable effect on gameplay, I don't know.

Trapping a unit under a force field is way to overpowered. It's literally like a large area lock down.

Not really. Unlike Lockdown, units can FIRE through the force field. It's only comparable to lockdown in case you use it in melee units AND kill them with ranged units.
It's a version of warcraft 3 Ensnare (from the Orc Raider) in this case.
I'm not saying it's not OP, if they implemented it that way they'd have to remove the other function, I guess... but I like it better TBH, I really don't feel the graphics work for the current function, it LOOKS like it should trap stuff, not push it away.
