Re: Awesome Idra Interview
the second one is actually very very lifelike, fucking retarded terrans they need a tier 1 units nerf
I love Protoss
My life for Aiur
Advanced technologies
... I loled
Re: Awesome Idra Interview
ROFL! That was hilarious! :D
Man, as if Terran infantry wasn't powerful enough, EMP is absolute bullshit. 100 less Shields and no Energy for all units inside the AoE? It should be called "Tosskill" instead of EMP.

Re: Awesome Idra Interview
Dear god, what is this thread really about? Terran OP? Not so much anymore. The supply before barracks has slowed marine rushes considerably, perhaps too much, and reapers are practically gone as a rush tactic. Vikings might be the only OP Terran unit left, and that only as an AtA unit. I would take a +25 gas on them and marauders, with a PF requirement for the c-shells - easy to get, but what a choice early game!
Re: Awesome Idra Interview
I don't think that making C-Shells require a PF would do the trick. IMO the real issue is how fast the Terran can be. Its not such a big deal for Zerg, but for Toss its a big problem, because their units are not expendable and not easy to replace. The Toss shield mechanic is based around the idea of rewarding well timed pull backs and harass so that you take minimal damage. However, with Marauders Terran completely negate this racial trait. With a Zealot force, you can't advance on Terrans until you have Charge upgrade @ Tier 2, because C-Shells makes each Zealot completely invalid. They also crush Stalkers in a straight or even slightly advantages for toss, fight.
The main problem is, is that with Stim and C-Shells it becomes impossible to advance and impossible to pull back against a bio-ball. If you advance, they just pull back slightly and keep you forever slowed until you are eventually killed. If you pull back, half your remaining forces are slowed, BUT their units also move faster then your non slowed units. Marines and Marauders are BARELY slower then a Stalker straight up, but when they stim they run circles around them AND can slow Stalkers even further.
IMO the best solution would be to nerf, or remove the speed buff given by Stim. Stim was never a problem in SC: BW, because not only were there no units with more then 60 health that could use it, but neither of those units could actually slow the opposing army. The movement buff is completely overkill in Sc2. And is only a penalty for the early game, once it transitions into the mid game and medivacs come out, Stim is essentially free!
It goes completely against the Terran ideal of slow pushing and careful meticulous cutting away sections of the map and movement paths. Its just about running up as fast as you can and punching the other guy in the face as hard as you can, which is a PROTOSS ideal. The problem is, Toss don't have a generalist unit that can "Punch Faces" like the Marauder and the Roach can. Stalkers are a good "generalist" because they can attack air, but they can't punch faces and fist pump.
4 Stalkers in your base? Eh... kinda scary. 5 Marauders in your base? O shi- 8 Roaches in your base? FFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Re: Awesome Idra Interview
My PF req suggestion was justto make things interesting by being creative. If it's no good, it's no good. I forgot about stim. It does need a greater damage output to the rines & rauders (more so the latter). The medivac thing isn't as much of a problem with the speed reduction (snipe'em after you distract the ball, from behind w/ vikes, mutas or blinkers; requires good use of control groups) as they are now a bit too slow to keep up, especially with stim going off. It's easier said than done though. Often, the ball is too big or spread out to flank like this. And lots of Terrans I've faced lately are mixing vikes with their bio ball specifically to protect the medivacs.
Re: Awesome Idra Interview
I say either nerf Maurader damage or make it so they can't be stimmed.
Re: Awesome Idra Interview
If they nerf Marauders, they should give tanks a slight buff. They're so weak vs protoss.

Yeah I want tanks to come back into meta so I can do Zealot bombs again!
That was so much fun in Bw.
The problem with C-Shells is that is pretty much a pure anti-Toss weapon. Do you see C-Shells used in TvT? Sure you see Marauders in TvT as tank busters, but they don't need C-Shells to slow down stationary units do they? Since they cant shoot up they cant slow Vikings. It has no true use in TvT. How about in TvZ? Sure it works great against Roaches, but that is it. Good luck slowing down enough Zerglings that it matters. Hydras never want to move anyway unless they are on creep and Ultras are immune.
C-Shells only has use against low numbers of short ranged units and units that try to flee, but are either the same speed or slightly slower then you. Basically... Roaches and EVERY toss ground unit. Combined with 20 dmg vs armored and its a near perfect toss killer.
Every strategy should be equally as easy to defeat as it is to pull off. If a strategy is easily pulled off, but difficult to beat it becomes an imbalance. That's why 5 rax reaper got hit hard with the nerf stick, because it was hard to fight against for Zerg. For Toss it takes 3-4 unit combination with precision control to fight off a Terran who has just 2 units and uses 1A and T. You have to have precision Force Fields and good Guardian Shield Coverage to have enough defense. If you have too many Zealots you just get kited. Too many Stalkers and you will just get overpowered. Too many Immortals and your army isn't big enough. Its not nearly as easy to fight against as it is to put together and that's a problem.
Edit: Anyway, enough Q.Q out of me, done too much of that today. The Hitler Finds out Terran Expanded video is pretty funny and the IdrA one has been out for a little while. Good stuff none the less...
