Do people think they're fooling you by using the default portrait?

Now that I'm facing people in Platinum and Diamond I've noticed a lot of them use the portrait of the guy with the goatee. Is this some kind of mind game?

I don't think so. I have met a guy who's name was Terran even though he played Protoss.

I don't know, back in Wc3 I always kept the Peon icon because I figured it was fun to keep that good old icon.
I'm not doing that now because the default icon looks absolutely terrible. I picked one of the easiest icons (the Spectre one) and I'll be keeping it for a while, but it's definitely not to fool anyone.

I use the Zealot icon, because Stalker and Phoenix sux.

Maybe they like the default icon / don't care about icons.

I use adjutant because it's the best avatar, even though you get it from single player.

I use the merc guy with the shades cause... well hell, hes wearing friggin shades.

On a second thought, a lot of the portraits have nothing to do with skill. The matchmaker makes people win 50% of the time, so you only need to play a lot to get them.

I'm one of those diamond players that rocks the good ol' Kachinsky portrait. None of the ones that I've unlocked yet have really caught my interest. Maybe it is a mind game? I don't do it to psych my opponents out, but i do smile a little when I beat somebody with the 250 wins portrait. "high templar portrait, better shit your pants" is countered by the "I DON'T CARE WHAT MY PORTRAIT IS, I PLAY VIDEOGAMES TO PWN". Maybe I'll swap it out if I ever get something really exciting, but for now I like the charm of Mr. Kachinsky.

I just use the cow marine. I think it's funny.
