Re: Macro Mechanics Discussion Thread
Plus, why would Karune say "While this may make it easier in compared to the other 2 races" if players couldnt easily cast it through the mini-map?

In fact, it's probably faster to go hotkey for obelisks -> location hotkey for mineral line -> cast -> location hotkey for wherever you were/hotkey for your army than it is to go hotkey for obelisks -> cast hotkey -> move mouse to mini-map -> aim correctly -> move mouse away again.
It could be even faster if you go double-hotkey for obelisk -> ability select -> cast -> double-hotkey for army. Double-hotkey takes your screen to the selected group, and your obelisk would have to be close enough to the minerals to cast. Another thing is that the PC only needs to land on the minerals — not on the Nexus. However, the curvature of the minerals will matter in where you cast it.

Because for some players that will be better, also because that was the original question.

Which players? You said that even pros will have to go back to the base to cast it accurately.

The casual crowd? If one literally cannot be cast via the mini-map and the other can, chances are there is going to be a pair of friends somewhere for whom this is an issue, if doing it one way were unbalanced.
Re: Macro Mechanics Discussion Thread
So casual players will be able to cast it by the mini-map but pros will have to go back to the base? If anything casual players would be the ones who couldnt cast it accuratly.

Pros will go back to base because it's faster, as me and n00b have pointed out, and because it's a lot more likely to be accurate. The casual crowd are less likely to care and, due to their mindset being different and them being "worse" players, it is unlikely to matter as much.
Re: Macro Mechanics Discussion Thread
Wait maybe i missed this part. How is hitting all the hotkeys AND hitting the locations faster than just hitting the hotkey and clicking the mini map however many times?

I read this part but I dont see how it can be faster to hit all those hotkeys AND click than to just click X spots on the minimap. Im trying to think if there is some way to test this in SC1.
