Ahhh.. So I got matched up with Cellawerra (who is now playing on US server for fun) and unfortunately, I knew he was streaming it at the time =[
Anyways, the guy is pretty impressive, got to the ro64 in GSL before losing to MaruPrime if I remember?? So, hes probably the best player I've played since beta anyways.
This replay is somewhat of a brag, but it was actually a good game. Showing how to deal with something like losing your whole base.. and still managing to stay alive with good stalker micro. Everyone on the stream was going "Who is this protoss?" and etc hahah.. The best is so many saying "OMG protoss is imbalanced", lol..
Anyways, enjoy. I didnt play my best clearly but eh its CellaWerra!
Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
Uuuuh, I will definetly check this out as soon as I get home, looks promising. And congratz on handling the pressure of realising that you're being watched by 900-1000 viewers :)
And congratz on teh win!

wow, beating a GSL precipitant, thats a nice scalp to have :)
was a nice game indeed! good idea to post it here.
now for some unbiased analysis though; i wouldnt really account your survival or comeback to stalker micro; your expo was choked off reasonably well and somewhat covered by cannons - he didnt have much other than lings and couldnt hurt you there.
to me it looked like your swift reconstruction of all the WG's, saving probes from main and crisp warpin timings from there on out allowed you to straight up beat his army midmap - at a time he tried to take a 3rd while being behind on drone count by about 10 due to sloppy injections / OL production during his nydus offenses (52/52 from 10:00 to 11:10) ... also, his initial attempt at 'ling aggression put him behind from the start.
I think he misjudged you / the situation when trying to follow up with muta; being short on drones / minerals as it was, he kind of got stuck, committing to collecting that much gas; you were able to outproduce him quite badly at the end of the game, and facing the mutas beautifully with the money-mix of stalker/sentry and enough zealots to nullify the amount of lings he had.
long story short; solid play FTW.
...additional thoughts: quick nydus vs P FE makes plenty of sense. isnt it almost unstoppable vs such front-heavy defensive investments? by the time its available you dont really have the units to stop it; not even to kill the worm. i guess you best look out for OL's and be ready to get at that worm the SECOND it plants with all youve got - including enough probes.
... the early ling aggression is a way to force canons at the front witch makes it harder for you to get enough units out in time to hinder the nydus, but the combination of these moves sets the zerg back so far that its fair game. i think, if he'd 'a cut some more corners to scale up his econ faster, it would have probably been close or in his favour by the time you attacked.
whats your general thoughts on this? do you get nydused much when fe'ing ? how do you prepare / deal with it?
gg. moar reps like this = thx.

Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
To be honest I get nydus'd almost every game I do this FE style haha.. Most times though, I have 2 zealot + one stalker to kill it before it starts, or ill have two extra cannons in my main probeline, combined with probes + new units coming in, I can usually hold it off.
The thing with scrap station is that expo is hard to cannon off, because of those rocks. If he wasnt able to break down those rocks, I would have approx ~300 gold extra from the cannons there, and could of placed them in my main or use them on units. As you saw, I saw his nydus worm go down, but one stalker wasnt enough to take it out in time, but on other maps I usually have 2-3 stalkers or zealots to take it out.
Either way, its a risk/reward build for him, because his nydus obvioulsy did a lot of damage but put his economy behind quite significantly. Thats how it usually is with nydus wormers, but it sometimes does kill me or do enough damage to make it impossible for me to come back. Im just thankful with my proxy cannon at his main expo, it messed him up even more economy wise, then my stalkers targeted his mutas instead of his lings and his lings didnt take out my stalkers in time, so I was able to survive the ling/muta ball.
Nydus is very strong overall though, just have to know how to transition out of it better if it cant finish the game, which he didnt do. Part of that was my proxy cannon though, if he had his main expo up which is far away and secured, it would of been too far for me to push in and counter, and I would of lost.

Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
I've been doing this same style of FE vs. Zerg since Skyze recommended it in that ranks thread. It makes for long games, but I like it. Nydus Worm is a good response to this that I also see alot. It's tempting to just pump probes during this build but you do need a stalker force walking around to fend off mutas or nydus worms. I'm paranoid about those rocks on Scrap Station though, but haven't faced too many Zergs on that map.
Anyway, Skyze is a beast, but we already knew that. Grats on the win.

Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
yea mass mutas is usually what I fear the most. Due to it taking longer for me to get a nice push off, he can have a LOT of mutas, almost to the point where my stalkers do nothing vs them. Nydus worms are easier to stop, but sometimes can still catch me off guard like in this game and hurt. I'd rather face a nydus worm and hide behind cannons/microing stalkers vs roaches than vsing mass muta though, those things are insane.

If I may ask, have you considered trying to qualify for the GSL? I've heard Tasteless and Artosis constantly encouraging more non-Korean players to look into it. It sounds like a great opportunity to do something you enjoy and possibly make a substantial amount of money. I know it's a pretty big investment considering you'd have to travel to Korea, but it could also be an epic investment.

theres no way I could ever afford to goto korea. and I basically quit SC2 competitively, just playin for fun now.
btw; Someone on TL.net decided to make a cast of the game on his replay channel, so I put it in the first thread.

Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
A large part of the Mutalisk's strength is its mobility. They're pretty good when Protoss has to try to defend two or more mineral lines at the same time, but opting to go for Mutalisks when you only had one base seemed like a bit of a mistake to me.
It can be good, but like Todie said, CellaWerra miscalculated how much stuff you could put out, and he didn't have enough stuff to deal with your counterattack.
I don't want to take away anything from you though, because you played very, very slick and looked very calm despite losing your main :p.

Re: [Replay] Skyze vs CellaWerra (ro64 GSL player)
Perfectly summed up Grunt.
I've lost so many games from underestimating warpgates... kinda crazy how quickly a Protoss can get a gateway army.
