Hey,
Just want to say that you're doing a great job holding on this all together, and keep up the good work!
Too bad that Dejai vanished and left you all alone and forced you to take care of the tourney. Btw, if you need any help later on, don't hesitate to ask, I'll try to do what I can. Maybe at some point if you will like hosting this kind of event, we can try to make it on regular basis. What do you think?
And I cant wait for the NA/EU showmatch =)

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
Moose and squirrel say that in Soviet Russia, wire wears you. And even if he is a spy, it is ok. I have been spying on who I think to be the best EU people on how they play, builds they use, weaknesses I see they have, to any of the NA people that face off against them. So if I am spying on them, they can spy on us. I still think we are fine, I think the four that we send match up very well against who I think will be their top for. Of course it all depends if my hunch on the top four for NA turns out to be true, but I would say it is.

As soon as these two groups of game will be finished we will have the final four done. So hopefully within the week we will be done.

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
I've been super busy so go ahead and nix me from the tourney if you need to. I haven't even logged into SC2 since the last matches I played.
-
Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
If anyone still has matches left try to contact the other people they have left to play. If Xeonio is out that is fine, but there has been no mention of what is going on in the other group and Cardjr in particular. It has been two weeks already, you all have until wednesday to play your games. If, by the time I wake up Thursday, the games have not been played I will just put the 4 players who have the best records as the top 4. To those that are worried, there is no chance that I can be in the top 4 so I am not doing this to give me a spot on the roster. I am doing this so we can get to the actual showmatch part, two and a half weeks is plenty of time to play no more than 9 games. GL to the people with matches still to go.

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
I beat SkullzX 2:1. I forgot to save the replays. You can ask him to verify if you'd like.

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
The set time has come and gone, after a little under 2 and a half weeks the final four for the NA team has been set.
Final Four:
SuperKiller
Siraz
ImmortaLisk (DharmaInit)
SaharaDrac
No clue yet as to when the actual EU/NA showmatch will be as I am still in talks on setting a date with their organizers. Congratulations to the NA4 for their performances, and I will be sure to give you all tips and tricks on how to beat the EU survivors. Thanks to those that participated and the next time there is a showmatch, there will be a better structure and less chaos. GL vs EU.
-
Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
Fantastic.
So that's:
Superkiller
Siraz
Immortalisk (dharmainit)
saharadrac
vs
Dauntless
Bash
Twilice
Hammy
Will you guys be playing a semi-final and final?

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
Seeing how much trouble there was getting people together for the entire tournament in general, there is no plans on it. If those four WANT to join up and do a series while we sort out the EU/NA showmatch they can, but it is doubtful there will be enough time to do so with how random all the schedules are. It was never planned to do so though, so it is really just up to them.
-
Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
Go with a team vs team instead player vs player, each player plays with everyone from the opposing team. (I guess that is what this was about, NA vs EU :D)
And then either add up the score, or give the "win" to the best player but it will be shared with the team.
-
Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
Perhaps a faster thing to do would be to make it single elimination where if each player plays each other, whoever loses doesn't play again, until one team has no players.
Starts off with 4 x 1v1's
This could possibly result in 1 player beating everybody on the other team for victory as the last player left.

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
The "all kill" idea was thrown around as the finals format for a bit. It does create a bit more drama to see if there can be an all kill. But, it was decided that since this is a friendly competition we should make it so that everyone who earned the right to play in the showmatch got to play in the showmatch. And when I say it was decided I am not saying that I sat in a corner and rolled my 20 sided die or anything, there was an actual thread about it on the forums a few weeks before either of the tournaments started where we discussed everything that would happen.
The general consensus was it would be 4 1v1 bo3 matches. Player A from NA would play player Player A from EU in a best of three, and then the next 2 people would play. If 2 players from NA won and 2 players from EU won there would be an ace match where each team could pick whoever they wanted from their team to play in another best of 3 to decide who wins the entire showmatch for their region.
We decided it was going to be all best of threes because the more matches two people play, the better chance the better play will win. And we decided it was going to be 4 1v1s because of the fact that time is an issue, and we are using game time cards for cross server play so we do not have a whole lot of time. So even though your idea was thought of as well Twilice, we literally do not have the time to do so this tournament.
Keep in mind however, all the rules we have/had for this tournament are just for this tournament itself. This whole thing was just a small scale trial run for perhaps bigger showmatches later on. So while the big things about this particular tournament are set, it does not mean it could not change for future tournaments. If the desire to make it bigger is there from the contestants, it could possibly happen. It really is up to you for the future. Anyway, good luck to all those that made it to the actual showmatch, more details will be provided at a later time. Until then, GL HF.

This is like one of those cartoons where friends plan an epic journey, only for them to realise (upon arrival) that none of them brought some important item because they all thought another person was gonna do it :p.

Re: StarCraft 2 SC:L North American Team
No it's not ;) there was a whole thread about this and it's pretty much figured out.
Now it's about picking a date that works for everyone. We only need one NA guest pass for this to work, and we already have it.
