Queen spell idea
Asexual Reproduction:
caster: Queen, researched at lair
targets: friedly zerg ground units (not queens)
cost: 25 energy + as many supplies the targeted unit requires to be morphed
time: as much time the targeted unit requires to be morphed
channeling: queen can't move (can attack though) and doesn't regen energy during the process
requisites: targeted unit must have at least 50% total hp
effect: targeted unit morphs back into an egg, after the morphing is complete 2 of the same units come out from the egg with 50% total hp
and now a couple of different ideas
Swarm Curtain:
caster: Infestor (preferably, but since it already has a lot of spells, overseer or curroptor could do as well)
target: ground
cost: 50 energy
effect: creates a swarm curtain in front of the caster, lasting 20 seconds. The curtain is a sight blocker in the same way of the tall grass and is created perpendicularly to the caster's line of sight, like the colossus attack, but wider.
why?: I think sight blockers are an interesting addition, but not too useful due to their staticity. The ability to place them can lead to some good tactic.
Sunken crawler:
tech: requires hive
cost: 50 minerals, 100 vespene
build time: 50 sec
effect: spine crawler ability that morphs a spine crawler into a sunken crawler. When rooted, the sunken crawler is burrowed and attacks targets in a line. Damage, rate and radius are unaltered.
why?: basically it's a lurker on creep, and probably the closest thing to a lurker that sc2 could have.

Re: Queen spell idea
This is actually an intreresting concept. After having watched a few videos however I've begun actually using transfusion a ton. I'm no longer convinced my sweetie needs another ability.

Re: Queen spell idea
One of the only abilities I'e heard someone come up with that is actually feasable*sp*. Good creativity!

Re: Queen spell idea
Maybe the energy should be based of the actaully cost of the unit? Using this on ultralisk's seems a bit... you know :P

Re: Queen spell idea
I like Playing something not TZ vs TZ in 2v2s.
In a normal game youŽd get a hilariously strong economic multiplier for Zerg. Maybe if it only worked on drones.

Re: Queen spell idea
It's an interesting idea, but i think it would have the problem of everything that gives you something without paying for it. I can imagine people spamming Queens, then converting one ultra into 2, then 4, then 8, you get the idea. Remember, even the auto-turrets used to be permanent, but that didn't made it, because you can then spam the things.

Re: Queen spell idea
Creative idea. "Queen Day" builds would certainly get buffed, but perhaps too powerful. Set it at 30-35% and I think we've got something.

Re: Queen spell idea
I already got owned by like 8 queens or so in a game.... man I feel ashamed... I saw mass roaches so I went mutas, then I got pawned by 8 queens with 200 energy and transfusion.
So we are already seeing "queen builds". And since it's fairly early of the game I didn't have time to tech into ultras.

Re: Queen spell idea
What would the cooldown be?
Az Norfindel said, it could be realy abusive if not calibrated properly ^ ^
And why only ground units? It could probably exclude T3 units ....
Dunno! Sounds interesting :p

Re: Queen spell idea
Thanks everybody for your replies.
Obviously numbers can be tweaked for the purpouse of balance, so if 50 energy is too little maybe 75-100 could be alright. Maybe something like 25 * supply cost could make this less exploitable.
Also I think the problem with the exponential reproduction can be resolved this way:
effect: targeted unit morphs back into an egg, after the morphing is complete 2 of the same units come out from the egg with 1/2 actual hp of the targeted unit
So, you have to use X energy (reproduction) + wait 70 sec + 200 energy (4 times trasnfusion) and preclude spawning larvae for that time, for 1 free ultra. Now if you want to repeat the process whit both newborn ultras, you will have to dedicate 2 queens to the job.
