Kotick insults indie developers..except Bungie

I can't believe he said this. It's a pretty blatant slap to the face to the indie community. Especially VALVE. I have respect for HALO and etc, but VALVE has innovated the FPS Genre since day 1. Halo is just a rehash of STAR SIEGE TRIBES for Consoles.

P.S. I do realize theres basically no more indie devs since they have all been eaten alive (Except VALVE basically). But this is an obvious PR stunt by Kotick to boost confidence in their purchase of a 10 year exclusive deal with Bungie.

It's like nerd raging over someone who called your friend an asshole, but your friend simply ignored it, but you're like. No, he called you an asshole, so fuck him, if I could go face to face I would beat the shit out of him.

I mean sure, it's reasonable to get angry when he does crap that directly affects you as a gamer. But all he did was say some crap in an interview this time, and lo and behold. A new topic arises about it.

Because everyone on this forum has conributed to his payroll, sucess, and his ultimate ability to buyout Bungie. We're all hypocrits.

As a fan, I care because this guy ultimately has some influence over Blizzard. Don't give me the "Blizzard is autonomous" crap. Kotick and Morhaime probably go golfing every now and then and they both work in cohesion to bring stock prices up..

Not to mention what they did to Infinity Ward. How would you feel if you worked at Infinity Ward. Today, you wake up and the Boss at the ultimate top - who probably made your workplace into a living hell - just said the only good indep. studio is Bungie?

This is why I say away from OT.

I am fairly certain that VALVe is not an independent company. I agree with Kotick that Bungie was one of the last high quality independent game companies. There are other indie companies that have decent fun games, but they arent necessarily high quality.

I didn't play any of these games, but I watched all campaign missions in all 3 games and I am interested in the story, yet because it was made for Xshit I didn't buy it
Valve hardly is an independent company I will agree on that

2. BioWare
3. Dice and Visceral Games
4. THQ
5. Santa Monica from Sony

Let me get this straight: You proclaim Halo games to be awful, then say you never played them, but you would've played them if you had an Xbox, but you will never get an Xbox but it's shit, but then you say its shit despite there being games on it that you are interested in, but you won't get it because you're a fanboy for something else?

I've been a Halo fan for 10 years. It, along with StarCraft, defines my gaming history. The friends I've made and the fun I've had fragging n00bs are some of the best things in my life.
