Well if Immortals are OP they can always nerf them a bit, but I doubt that they're OP.
If the Immortal gets it's Shields depleted, the mechanic is disabled. It works only on Shields.
Basically, if a unit deals more than 10 damage to the Shields, the damage is reduced to 10.
Units with fast attacks are able to destroy the Immortal's Shields fast. After that, the Immortal is just like any other unit.
The Immortal shield mechanic requires the opponent to us more of a mix of units, like Ultras AND lings, or tank hellion reaper? o_o
I think this is how the shields already work.Quote:
But what I'd like to see them consider is a slight adjustment to their shields of sorts. Synchronize their hardened shield with their regular shielding. This way if smaller units like marines are able to deplete it with regular attacks the tank can still blast away at it without triggering the hardened shield.
I remember I misinterpreted the first time I heard it, I thought the shields themselves only activated when attacks did more than 10 damage, and anything less than that went straight through to the armour.
No; they never worked that way. They're just shields. However, if an attack that would deal 11 or more damage hits their shields, then the damage is reduced to 10.Quote:

What's this about being able to deplete the hardened shields? It's the first I've heard of it.
There's nothing about it. The hardened shields are a passive ability incorporated into the Immortal's regular shields.Quote:

If the regular shields deplete, then there is no shield left.
You're getting off-topic.
You are forgetting that the Libyans greatest strength is the fact that their trucks have nuclear warheads strapped to their flatbeds. So, in order to keep the sharks, you swap out the lasers for Nukes strapped to their heads, which of course would not counter immortals, but then again what can? They earned that name.
Duke Nukem would kick Chuck Norris's arse. Just sayin.

dolemite motherfucker
This thread is so laughable it's great. :D
This thread is so off-topic it ought to be closed.
So anyway, to point it all out- the Immortal can’t be overpowered in either TvsP or ZvsP as Terran have the EMP which is a hard counter and Zerg units don’t do high levels of damage. So the only problem would be PvsP? I’m tired so I’m proberly wrong- just attempting to get this back on track. :)
...Might be futile though... ;)
In PvP the Void Ray will slaughter Immortals. Void Rays attack at a fast speed, and increase their damage by 8 times in just 4 seconds, that once the shield is gone Immortals will melt.
That's right. I just love precision. ;)
You guys are thinking about this too hard.
What do you need to beat Immortals? Men with spears and bronze shields.
But you'll need a bunch. Maybe 300 or so, plus assorted slaves.
