Muta stacking
I wonder if you guys know that muta can stack in SC2. I discover that if you select a group of muta and right click on a single muta. They will stack when on the move and attacking and all you need to do is to micro the single muta. If you stop they will stack for a while and they spread out.
P.S I'm not a zerg player and I didn't know that if you guys are aware about it. If you do please don't scold me for being a noob and trying to teach you something you had already know.

Re: Muta stacking
Haha yes, I never thought about it, but it is the same way in WC3 too with flying units. It is pretty logical to be the same in SC2. Good find too.

Re: Muta stacking
Your a noob for teaching me something I already knew!
Yeah, seriously though, I knew that. Thanks for pointing it out for everyone else, because now your probably going to get killed by it. Yay for you! Ha ha.

Re: Muta stacking
since I dont play zerg, and hardly have since beta.. I dunno.
But my question is, the whole point of "muta stacking" in BW is to fire off attacks all at the same time, therefor being able to run them back and fire off another volley.. This volley, if you have 10+ could kill like a turret in one hit, or def a marine in one hit.
Anyways, my point being, This is not possible with your method (I havent tried it but very positive) .. As you are controlling one muta to fly the stack around, even if the stack does autoattack anything in its path, you wont get that instant "burst" volley that is the purpose of mutastacking in BW.. so while it may look neat, its not very practical =[
Anyways, as the video someone did recently of the Thor "magic box" vs mutas, stacking is not a good thing anymore, you purposely want them spread out vs thors so only 1 muta takes the dmg, not splashed to the rest.

Re: Muta stacking
And don't forget the fact that you stack mutas in BW so that they can't get focus fired reliably. Now the one that all the mutas are following is dead meat withing seconds.

Re: Muta stacking
I tried this. The one muta I had selected charged in and died in seconds, leaving me to have to regroup them.
It just isn't the same.

Re: Muta stacking
Why not do his stacking method and move the single muta a short distance so all the mutas would stack then select the stack of muta and constantly keep moving and attacking with that stack?

Re: Muta stacking
Because they would unstack in a second as they fire.
