See I mostly just care about tight balance for E-sports. This game should be groundbreaking in the world of competitive gaming, and it seems like it's going to be at the moment, so they shouldn't screw that up by overwhelming hardcore gamers with abunch of useless unperfected units. After all, E-Sports SC2 is what I'm going to be watching in 5 years when I'm tired of playing.

Yes, bring in NEW units. And make sure you cull some of the OLD ones that should NEVER have returned in the first place.
I'm sorry, marine +shield is NOT a new unit! ... and there are others which fall into this category. (I LOL'd at the PHAIL of that rail tank... seriously wtf?!)
I've finished the SP game - being fairly disappointed (and vocally so in other threads) - I can't be fkd actually playing this game very much beyond that. Same old game really. Its just not that much fun above SC1. Sure it looks better. 12+ years better? no way!. I do enjoy watching the replays a LOT however.

I think there's room for some old units, Ice. Keeping the Marine, Zealot, and Zergling keeps it StarCraft. But there are definitely some old units which were rightfully replaced (Reaver) and still need to be replaced (Carrier) to make the game better.

if you want to start adding to this thread, then lets single out the units who would need an expansion upgrade to make them better.
i find myself never having enough zerglings. they are more like a resource than a unit to me. need zerglings to stand infront of my hydras, need zerglings to turn into banelings, need zerglings to turn into banelings to create minefields, need zerglings to turn into banelings to replace the mines that have blown up, need zerglings to replace the zeglings that just died.
wouldn't mine a zergling upgrade that made them cost next to nothing.
the roach wasn't exactly what the zerg were missing in starcraft 1 to me. the 2 best new units zerg ever got were banelings and lurkers.
the zerg needs a new unit that you can mix with any zerg infantry and deals a brand new strategy. in essence what the medic did for terrans when she was added.

This will never happen. I personally wrote a letter to Blizzard demanding that Mauraders cost 25 minerals 25 gas but have 500HP and 100 damage (150 to armored) but they refused.

they could probably find a way to add new units. some bad ass very exspensive units would be cool.

Then they would never be used and the casuals would feel like they wasted their money ... then again casuals will probably just find someone to cannon up and mass the.

I'd be up for expansions changing the functions of old units up a bit, or even a lot, and tweaking some old units, spells, etc to make them more fun.
I still think the Zerg need one more unit somewhere, and Ultras still just don't feel like they do what they should.
Is it wrong that I want a Zerg air caster?

Well the Overseer "kind of" counts. I think maybe one more ability on it would be good. Also a third ability on the Mothership.

Yep. However, they may need even more than that - Now that I'm actually playing the game, I now think Zerg maybe got a bit screwed in terms of new gameplay mechanics. The new UI makes playing Zerg much easier, but how you play them really hasn't changed that much - (outside of creep highways)
Besides more 'morphing' uinits, I think I'd like to see something along the lines of the creep tumor mechanic being applied to (select) units - the original unit producing the next, etc.

I feel like alot of protoss unit are really situational. You got blink that does just everything, it's maybe the best unit to just harass with blink, it's the only anti air unit they got that is any kind of worth it and they are good damage dealer against pretty much anything.
But beside that it just feels like you go one tech and if countered it becomes totally useless.

Don't complain about the ultralisk… go watch some SC2 vids of the Korean player Argos. It seems their strategies rely on muta harrass to keep their opponent into their base, fast tech to ultras, and crush the opponents army as they leave their base.
