Is it worth getting the beta?
Re: Anti-aliasing now available from ATI
It's just now implemented? What's that performance drop I've been getting when enabling AA then?
Hmmmmm, weird. I've been losing performance for no reason.
Re: Anti-aliasing now available from ATI
I've installed the driver but I'm having a bug where CCC won't open so I can't provide any more details than the fact it's out. No problems with the driver so far though.

That happened to me once. You need to upgrade the Motherboard/southbridge drivers, also.

No, no, no! You can't just do that. You can't just make a deferred renderer do antialiasing. Not without completely replacing every shader the game tries to use. Which is... rude. And potentially dangerous, in case they, I don't know, change the shader at some point.
This is a beastly, brutal hack. And I have no idea how well the game will hold up with such a hack in place.

Actually I had that happen too. I fixed it by uninstalling the drivers before doing installing the new ones (make sure they're completely removed, not just CCC).
Good to know AA is supported, I might stick with ATI after all (as long as they're drivers don't bug out on me again), but its of no use to me right now seeing how my card can only run on medium to begin with.

So what is nVidia doing?
Re: Anti-aliasing now available from ATI
Well the CCC worked with the latest release drivers, but when updating with the hotfix it stopped working. No big deal as I never use it and AA doesn't bother me either way, just thought I'd try it out. I'll try again when they update the next lot of drivers.
Re: Anti-aliasing now available from ATI
Why use anti-aliasing anyways? I never use it and on screens with a resolution higher than 1280 x 720, it all looks good anyways without AA.

What type of monitor (LCD, CRT) and size?
