Haha lol, now that is is realy funny.
Critics about the DoW2 and it's campaign :
From gamespot :
"Extraordinary online play makes it easy to overlook this strategy sequel's less-impressive single-player campaign. "
And we all know how biased gamespot is usualy, so for them to say that it's less impresive, actualy means that it's crap.
Also some other :
From GameTrailers :
"An interesting, but ultimately weak, single-player experience is a bit of a disappointment to be sure."
Eurogamer :
"It doesn't, however, fulfill the task of being absurdly entertaining. The failings in the campaign mean that for all its incredible fireworks and visual splendour, its not interesting enough."
This is exactly what happened in this thread. Totally second that.
Over-hype = over-disappointment.
Whose fault? Your own.
There are certain scenes that are sort of predictable, but most of the campaign, you're playing the characters on the Hyperion, and you're playing the characters in the game discovering new things as you go. And, I only played 1 iteration of the campaign so far. This whole time I was doing the marathon, I felt completely immersed and didn't notice how 12 hours went by!!
My wife went to bed, and I said I'm coming honey. I just stayed up lol! All the way till 5am, then I took a short break and went back to it :D I was done by almost midday. That was how engaging the gameplay and story were.
I was over-hyped about 2 months into the beta after seeing the "Drill" mission and the "Terrazine" one. I thought to myself there are a lot of things I can expect. But, then, I thought about it and was like:
Well, I am really setting myself for disaster if I keep up with my ideas. Not expecting and not knowing is the best thing to do when entering a campaign or story. For people who have been speculating like crazy, they have preconceived notions which maybe do not align with the GRAND scheme of things upto Legacy of the Void.
The Zeratul campaign was the CRUX of the story, I think. The revelation of the future without Kerrigan was extremely well done, and the false sense of security created in the last Protoss mission is absolutely brilliant right before the thing goes to hell and you run out of resources.
The unknown character begs the question: "What is he?"
I suspect he is a defecting Xel'Naga, or a similar consciousness to the Overmind but on a grander scale where he can manipulate characters like Duran and Ulrezaj. The hybrid, as Zamara had said in the DT Trilogy, is an abomination of what the Xel'Naga should have been - a perversion.
Their advent breaks the cycle of creation and threatens the Xel'Naga's existence, and I think HoTS will go further into that part of the story as Kerrigan, no longer being infested, will control the swarm alongside the Terrans with Raynor and Valerian - I like Valerian's character a lot btw ^_^. There is a possibility that either the zerg will be halved due to the Dark Voice taking control of half the swarm through another agent, or through Duran himself, who might make a return - since he has been conspicuously absent this time. Or, we might just see a huge plot surrounding the de-infestation of Kerrigan and her using the swarm full on against the hybrids who come in force to hit the Terran worlds and zerg-infested worlds en masse.
The section where Tassadar reveals himself, basically, as the Twilight wanderer or an avatar of it, just as Adun was, was BRILLIANTLY concocted. I did not expect it, and was pleasantly surprised that Tassadar had been able to delve into the memories of the Overmind and it's struggles. It lends a new perspective into what the zerg essence actually is.
The all-consuming "nature" attributed to them might not be accurate afterall. Kerrigan, being part Overmind and part Sarah, and the deinfestation process shows that there was a bigger drive than her personal vendetta in more subtle ways than Kerrigan could detect, as hinted to by Duran in the BW Dark Origin map.
I blame Tricia Helfer for spoiling the ending back at Blizzcon 09.
Agreed. Thank god I didn't side with Nova. I played her missions after I beat it. They sucked.
Agreed. None of them had the Blizzard magic.
Ala seeing Mephisto form in Diablo2, the intro for StarCraft1, HELL the f-ing dialog for the dark wanderer on the Caravan from diablo2 preview.
All the cinematics in this sucked HARD. Even the part when they barge onto Valerians ship, that was WEAK.
WTF Happened to their cinematics team?!
What happened to narrative and dialog like this? Stop hiring idiots like Tricia Helfer to voice act. I bet that Metzen just wanted to stare at her in the studio -_-...why else would you replace Talken? Tricia sucks at voice acting and isn't even a good actress in general.
They just recycled the reveal cinematic and changed the audio for SC2.
The graphics used there made it look so much more serious and dark[/QUOTE]
This > StarCraft 2 Cinematics
What's wrong with you? You're going to compare three games, 60+40+40=140$USD to StarCraft1 which lets assume, was 60$ Back then?
......Enough said.
