Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
Don't get me wrong, this game still looks great.
But for example, when Raynor shoots some marines, it's just a bunch of sparks. It still looks cool.
But I don't know, I think I'll miss the "eye exploding claw through the face from the back of the skull" scene from The Amerigo in SC1. It was definitely a lot darker, while still being able to keep the atmosphere and plot in its cinematics.
BTW not saying that an M will guarantee more gore and such, but just hypothetically speaking.
Re: Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
the T rating of today is the M rating of 10 years ago. And why would bullets hitting a marine suit cause anything other than sparks? It's not like blood would erupt out of wounds with enough force to squirt out of the little holes in the suit.
Also there are plenty of units exploding into blood in the actual gameplay. Not to mention Zeratul shoving his psi-blade down a Hyrdas mouth and stabbing it through the head with it's own claw.

I agree. Although I wouldn't mind an M rating, T is just fine for me. As long as the game is good, it could be E for all I care :D.

Wasn't the original StarCraft rated Teen as well? I know one box-art showed it as Mature, but the recent ones are Teen, unless I'm mistaken.
Re: Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
M rating = something like God of War or Devil May Cry
T rating = everything else.
basically...if there's no sex and the brutal scenes aren't super brutal it'll be T
super brutal is now defined as ripping off heads, chopping off limbs, banging the goddess of love, disembowling Kronos, and smashing Zeus' face until the screen is completely red.
Re: Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
I find the game offensive as teen. I demand sex and super brutal scenes.

Yup, the version I had was rated T. My brother had a version that was rated M, so I'm not sure if they changed it or if it was just a typo.
Re: Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
A lot more goes into it then just porn and gore. Certain language and dialogue used in the story can have a pretty good effect on the rating, all because of one little f bomb. Star Craft is the type of universe that needs an M rating, they can do it with a T but it will never be as good. Blizzard really needs to make a nice mature game-to bad they wont. God damn. The one company that could really have fun with a Mature title. UGH! I hate that they are all about money.
Re: Is anyoing else a little disappointed by the T rating?
Given the higher degree of detail, I think an exploding face with today's graphics would be stretching it. And ratings have changed over the years, becoming more liberal. I'm more or less fine with how things are now.

Vacuum of space. Holes would cause the pressure within the suit to collapse in on itself, resulting in a huge bloody mess.
This besides the obvious fact that bloody explosions are the most visually impacting way to communicate death.
