Downloadable Content

According to an article on the Blizzard Entertainment homepage, the Starcraft II Collector Edition will be including (but not bound to):

"Exclusive Battle.net downloadable content, including special portraits for your Battle.net profile, decals to customize your units in-game, and a visually unique version of the terran Thor unit"

The details on the release version of "exclusive Battle.net downloadable content" is vague at best, and future plans of this exclusive downloadable content (DLC) is non-existent to my knowledge.

Do you have any ideas, opinions, or news about the release and/or future planned (exclusive or non-exclusive) DLC?

The specifics of the DLC are mentioned in the rest of the sentence.

You probably won't be seeing DLC. It will almost 99% certainly come in the form of free patches.

If you want to call premium maps DLC then I guess that's some right there.

I think Blizz mentioned something about luxury dlc that you had to pay for, but was not essential to the game (like custom maps, decals, etc). perhaps some of these will be free for CE players? ionno.

I won't be surprised if they give the CE owners some bonuses down the road. It won't be something for the normal buyers to get super mad about. Blizz is fair

I could think of a possible DLC: Enslavers III Possibility (my guess):Ulrazj returning from his crystal prison and the vat creatures and that whole thing with the hybrids and stuff? but yeah I would guess Enslavers III

If Blizzard DID release paid DLC portraits, complaints will skyrocket for a week before people realize they don't have to pay and it's not a big of a deal whether anyone bought them or not.

I would love to see DLC for SC2, because this is a game I'd be happy to pay to access content for. Of course it would depend on what the content is; I'm not just going to buy a random portrait or a map because it's there; but if it's say a campaign that features new content (art, sounds only available through that custom map) and it's of high quality, why not?

Sure it'd be better if it was free, but so would ANYTHING. Even Mass Effect 2's DLC comes at a cost, and I see no downside for it existing. I loved Mass Effect 2, and throwing down a few extra bucks is nothing when I'm getting MORE content from Bioware for the game I enjoy playing. Other stuff like Hammerhead missions are also DLC, and I chose not to buy it.

What? I didn't know this..... How can I now get all portraits/achievements.....
