We're poisonous. Like blue-ringed octopus.

I hear the best treatment for octopus stings is warm water and vinager over the effected area.
I hear the best treatment for Demolition Squids is a nuclear barrage.
Well, Considering that Zerglings have red blood and don't need to bask in the sun all day, I think its safe to assume that they have similar internal organs as other creatures. This includes muscles, stomach, hearts, livers and what not.
Frankly, I think Zergs probably have a similar background to Dinosaurs... which are related to Birds. From this, I personally believe the Zerg tastes like chicken.
Kentucky Fried Zerglings, in original and crispy recipes with extra drumsticks to boot! Mmmm.
Now here's a question to ponder: Are the buildings and creep edible?
Hmmm, interesting question. I think Creep wouldn't be though. Remember what happened to the Zealot in the story "Creep"? Well, imagine what it can do from the inside.
Makes me wonder about how wide-spread creep is. Can it be found in buildings as well as units?
I also wonder how much the Pax tests changed the Creep, and how much of it was Creep acting naturally.
Also wonder how Creep nourishes Zerg. Does it just excrete a nourishing fluid? Does it hook up into a minion directly like it does buildings? Do zerglings eat the stuff? How does it convey information from one building to another, especially of the genetic variety?
That's some versatile stuff.
I'd imagine the Drones and Larvae to nibble at it the same way rays nibble at the sea bottom for invertebrates or snails rasp at a leaf. Otherwise I think it mainly nourishes buildings (Creep as an agent for communication between the various Zerg buildings is a really cool idea by the way, if it's not part of the official lore already then it definitely should be). Any Zerg equipped with fang and claw would most probably feed on their victims rather than Creep (Hydralisks would have to get into some pretty awkward positions to eat stuff right off the ground). I do wonder though how do Overlords (and by default Overseers) get their nutrition? They're slow and not particularly fierce, so predation seems out of question... Maybe clouds of nourishing spores released by specific Zerg buildings into the air (Overlords feeding on them rather like whales on plankton)?
But how do minions nourish themselves when there's no prey around? The entire point of the Swarm is to infest or kill everything. Hm, there's an interesting line in the description of the Fenris brood that states they hunt down wayward breeders. Does this mean zerg intentionally keep other races for experimentation? Maybe they also keep them as cattle for food? I somehow doubt this.
Hmm, I like this. They feed off spores released by spore colonies? This would also be a good excuse to add atmosphere to a zerg hive in cinematics and such; a ruddy pall or haze settling over a hive cluster from which descends a mighty Overlod.Quote:

I picture zerg being like certain fish, if you know what your doing you can cook...part of them...but otherwise your asking for a quick toxic death.
