Re: The Street Fighter Topic
I main Guile, I'm at around 2000PP and 5200 BP, rated as a B Player for Guile
My 2nd's are Ken and Bison.
I use an arcade stick...charger characters + console pad = NO!
Ah crap you have it for 360..... booooo (I'm a PS3 player)
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Haha, I think you'd be a little bit out of my league, honestly. Like I said, I'm a new player, and if your stats are at all indicative of your skill, I'd probably rack up a couple perfects for you. Also, Guile is probably one of the hardest match-ups for me to beat; any defensive character or play-style just tears me apart. Regardless, I'd still play a few matches with you if you somehow magically transformed your PS3 into a 360. Any advice or learning experience is crucial to me.
In regards to control methods, I cannot stand arcade sticks. I know getting used to them takes some patience and prudence, but I just can't stand using a stick. I know it's more accurate and probably better suited for competitive play, I just can't get into using an arcade stick. The 360 joystick, on the other hand, seems extremely responsive to me and I can easily pull off (most) special moves and attacks. I can't do quite a number of challenges and combos, but I'll chalk that up to my inexperience as a player.
I hear you on the control pad nothion, though; PS3 controllers are abysmal in general, so playing a fighting game on a PS3 controller is something I don't ever want to do.
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Well, I don't play (wish I had the game though, but I only have so much cash :(). However, if I did, I'd totally play Bison (English version) - he's such a badass! XD
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Bison IS awesome! I used to play him back when I first got HD remix and loved it. The only thing that deters me from playing him more is the sheer complexity of all his combos and follow-ups. Blue+Pink Bison looks so rad.
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
I main Vega and I play sagat as my secondary. I have it for PC (I am the only one!)
But I avidly play it at the arcade in Vancouver.
Edit: I should add, the reason I have the Pc version is because I have a arcade cabinet with a PC in it that I use ro play arcade games of all sort in.
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Ryu for life. Even when I was like 5 years old and could barely see the controls at the arcade at my parents theater I was playing Ryu (talking SF2 from like 20 years ago). My parents tell me stories of me beating high school and college kids of the time.
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Cammy. I thought if I were to lose some more after having lost so many, why not lose every time with a striking pose deserving to be in the hot-chick thread?
Re: The Street Fighter Topic
Aww, it seems like none of you guys are playing on the 360 version :(.
I think I've decided to main Blanka followed by Fei Long, Bison, or Abel. I seriously lose almost every match I play against anyone who plays Ken. I obviously don't know that much about Street Fighter, but Ken seems like the ultimate noob-killer.

To beat ken, if you have a fireball character - just stay far away.
Never fireball more than a quarter screen close
Never jump into him
Just poke him when he makes a mistake
Or just jump in the air neutrally and then medium kick when he tries to jump in.
He will just try to get in close to you and "cross you up" with his mix ups by jumping to your sides and mixing it up from Shoryuken's to grabs, to etc.
Since you main Blanka, you shouldn't have too much trouble killing him. If he fireball spams, just slide and it will go right under the fireball. If you're far away, do some ex-rainbow rolls. When he tries to jump in/mix you up, your ultra is perfect for doing that.
Just play more or head onto
http://www.shoryuken.com forums and go into the blanka section for SSF4. Tons of tips and help.
