What to do until the 27th?

There's less than 7 days left and it's a very exciting time for StarCraft fans. Here's some things to keep you occupied for awhile:

Share your excitement in the final countdown thread.

Watch Day[9]'s King of the Beta tournament. Also check out his stream in the final 12 hours before launch for a countdown party.

If you still have the beta client installed you can still play single-player custom maps, a huge collection can be found on Curse's SC2 channel. If you wanted to learn how to make your own map or play around with the editor some great tutorials can be found on SC2Mapster.

And of course there's lots of discussion to be had here on SC:Legacy!

These are some of the things giving me my SC2 fix until release. Feel free to share your own links or thoughts.

I have 6months of paperwork that I have been avoiding. Should definitely take this week to do that while I have one less distraction. Gogo inspection for my work in the first week of aug.

But really I can't wait for knocking up singleplayer.

Valve released a free game on Steam, Alien Swarm. I've already played it with some other forum members. You should DL it, it's got my seal of approval. Great game, I would have paid for it.

I can't believe after three years of following the release of this game, I will find myself moving for like 5 to 7 days straight before I can even play...

I'm hastily trying to finish up reading Heaven's Devils and finish them original campaigns (plus precursors, enslavers, deception, and eveything else).

i want the frikin unlock no 20 - CINEMATIC INTRO!!!! ffs we had that for every wow expansion a month ahead . gogo 98%

Yep, I was gonna recommend Alien Swarm as well. Played a few rounds last night with Hamshank and it's got promise. That will probably satisfy my gaming needs until next Tuesday, and considering it's free you've got nothing to lose by trying it out.

Get on the SCL Steam account and maybe some of us can synch up for games.

Starcraft campaign missions!

Isn't the campaign intro Tychus getting suited up?

Well I'm a fan not an addict and would go about my usual daily routine, without any fuzz about SC2. Post here when I like, when it comes out it comes out, I'd get it, play it.

If you find yourself in my comments, please forgive me, I have no intention of insulting anyone and every persons has different reactions to things. Its that I would consider myself a SC2 addict if I were looking for stuff to do with regards to SC2, until its out.

I think it's going to be the Jim Raynor dream sequence about Mengks leaving Kerrigan behind. This is partly a revenge story so we have to get Jim's motivations in play early on.

The Tychus thing will probably come after that. Or maybe I have them flipped...I don't know.

The Kerrigan vs Zeratul cinematic has been called the intro cinematic. It would make sense for it to be that although it's possible it's the intro to the Protoss mini-campaign.

I'm assuming you get access to Steam by buying a Valve product? Any way around that? Alien Swarm looks pretty fun.

Whelp, I downloaded Alien Swarm but it crashes every time I load a game. Ugh, lame.

I am going to clean up my house and get my computer in tip-top shape for Starcraft 2.

Ah, yeah, this game is great. However, it gets just a little repetitive, imo. To me, it's like Left 4 Dead with a top down view and a lot more weapons.

Sorry, haven't watched HD at all - Is he always this terrible at assessing the game flow and looking at the minimap?

I like HD's commentaries a lot but sometimes he does miss certain things happening in the game.

It's just that this game he really seemed to ignore a lot that was going on and didn't watch the minimap too carefully and I wanted to know if that was a recurring theme.

Mediterranean cuisine addicts? At least they show good taste in herbs... :D

Back in India the local primates used to come with the exactitude of once every month and a half and throw down the potted plants from the terrace on the second floor down to the garden below, inevitably shattering them to bits. So there are worse fates for a potted plant than an occasional theft.

Or Cocaine addicts. They sometimes smoke kitchen herbs laced with cocaine when they're low on weed or cigs.

I finished today Dark Tower (stephen king) i will read "heaven's devils" soon :D

I don't get why people would call the Zeratul vs Kerrigan cinematic the intro.

It's logical that it comes AFTER Zeratul has explored the cave, doesn't it? So what point would it serve to play the cinematic before the player even goes through the cave, before even meeting Kerrigan there?

Dear god Wheel of Time got boring on that one, that latest one was good and the next 2 should be interesting, the new author moves the story just right.

And reading more about Rand is a big +, i find Perrin bland, Mat is awesome, but Rand is #1.
badass final fight is mandatory.

Oh btw for Steam how do i get to the scl thing?

Wow. StarCraft seems so slow and cumbersome now that I've played the sequel. The campaign doesn't even have that same feel that it had for me nine months ago.

You've done it again Blizzard. Diablo 2 made it impossible to go back to Diablo 1. StarCraft made it impossible to go back to WarCraft 2. Now, it's almost impossible to go back to StarCraft.
