Hello everyone. I just bought this guide last week. http://www.amazon.com/Starcraft-Limi..._sim_gs_vg_1_2
I was wondering if the stats are going to be accurate for the most part on units.
Did anyone else buy a guide?

The stats will never be accurate in a book since they'll be changing constantly. Sorry, but your best guides are online.
I'd be more concerned with the quality of the actual strategies (for multiplayer) in that book. Even if they do diligence on researching strategies, the metagame for SC2 is going to be evolving hourly once it's released. Any strategies, outside of basic stuff (keep making workers, etc) will quickly become outdated.Quote:

huge waste of money
Online guides are good already. (not to mention free)
He can still cancel it and he should.
You should never buy a guide for sc, even bw. Strategys are coming and going and some people think they know what they are talking about when they have no idea. I'd just download replays and talk to people on forums like this to see what other people think. The best strategy guide for starcraft2 is practice.
I've been in the beta since near the begining and I went from doing a 6 reaper opening to going race specific strategys like mara/hellion. The game has evolved so much it's not even funny. Retail is going to be insane to keep up with for the next 5 years.
Don't buy it if you want real strat guides. But if you just feel like having that, and it's of no consequence to your wallet, you are a free man.
:D
You guys are crazy. You NEED this guide, it has

Dedicated BATTLE.NET guide explains how to find and manage friends, chat with other players, and use the "matchmaking" system to find multiplayer matches at appropriate skill levels.
SHIT! SOLD!!
LOL really?!
But I'm sure anyone who buys this will do it just for the sake of having one.
The only reason I pre-ordered the guide is because I had extra money for GameStop ands nothing to use it on...
@hyde: Holy shit! They explain the chat system! That's been a thorn n my side since beta. *runs out and pre-orders*
Do y'all know any good websites outlining some basic strats or counters? I want to bone up while beta is over.
Ask around for anything specific here or TL- but I'd work on my basic machanics and figure out a few basic builds first before strategies and counters- counters can be a blurry area. Wacthing replays are a good place to start too, but don't be too tunnel visioned when wacthing them.Quote:
