Will there be a disparity in skill level from beta to retail?
I was wondering if we're really going to see a shake up within the leagues. More than likely if you are playing in platinum or diamond you're at the top of your game, but for us mortals in bronze-gold, do you think those coming in will be folks who are more casual and didn't get into beta, or will you likely end up right where you were before, or possibly worse? Just a curious question.
EDIT: I missed the word "retail" in front of the second skill.

Meh... there will definitely be an advantage for beta players for about two weeks or so...
But I'm sure there's plenty of newcomers and fans that either didn't get into beta or weren't that concerned, that are guna get hooked and own enough of us beta players eventually.
Re: Will there be a disparity in skill level from beta to retail?
The current beta environment has been categorized as "hard core". Not only will beta players have the advantage of a few months of play time, but many were more skilled than the flood of new players that will buy the game to begin with.
Re: Will there be a disparity in skill level from beta to retail?
Beta players theoretically should get quickly placed against other beta players/people of similar skill (and from what I've seen, it works), so it shouldnt really be apparent.

I will catch up to all of you beta players...
And how in the world will beta players do worse than retail players?

This, with an addendum that lower level Beta players will probably find themselves in higher leagues in retail. You won't notice much of a difference in play because of the matchmaking quality, but your ranking will reflect your greater relative skill.

Darn, I did not see the fourth option. Berta players will do better because they do have the initial experience. Other players will eventually catch up though.

Another thing to look at is that people pumped enough to opt-in to the Beta are also more likely to be a bit higher end in terms of play. A lot of people will pick it up on launch day having very little RTS experience. Of course, many people not in Beta were also experienced but less lucky, so that lowering of average skill will be less than the one that will come around Christmas when tons of people are given copies as a gift.
