Macro-Micro focused gameplay. Macromanagement that promotes multi-tasking and decision making.
A powerful map editor. One that allows UI custimization (non-trigger based camera control) and can support gameplay beyond traditional RTS mechanics.
More Replay features. The ability to draw on the map with a marker and zoom out farther in replays.
1) All my gaming friends develop a fond interest for the game and don't get frustrated with the learning curve, allowing us to play regularly together like we do with TF2 and other games.
2) A fourth race gets announced at some point (hybrids or xel'naga).
3) Gameplay doesn't get too redundant (I'm looking at you macro mechanics), and offers a lot of variety and strategy for us to consider.
A powerful editor and a damn good campaign.
A more fun multiplayer gameplay experience, with an AMM so noobs don't get crushed in their first two or three games, and less macro busywork.
A wonderful campaign with all the bits I'm looking for (interesting missions, xel'naga plotline, hybrid opponents, multiple intelligent zerg heroes, a reasonably high amount of use of heroes, etc)
An easy-to-use and powerful map editor, with good example AI scripts (none of this Grunt Master nonsense).
- a gripping and fresh story-line devoid of SF clichés
- intuitive interface which goes far to make the player comfortable whilst playing the game
- dethroning SC:BW
No Thor, no Carrier, no bullshit macro mechanics like Proton Charge.
captivating story, epic gameplay, and life-like characters
breaking the genre, bringing new elements, increasing the cinematic and epic feel
-I want the game to be run smoothly with my old computer
-I hope they make their campaign heroes and characters less DUMB! (In SC1, the terrans and protoss were leaded by retards. ie: Ok Duran, let's destroy the psi disrupter, you are right this is TOO dangerous to just steal it and use it to kill the zergs).
-Make team matches very cool. Cause I don't like 1v1, I like teamwork in games.
-The perfection of the art style
-That Koreans stop being the top players and that the whole world plays it.
-Air unit become useful
My only wish is that Blizzard takes listen to the community (the real community, ones that aren't just saying "OMG this game needs blah", but ones who actually are intellectual and have reasoning that is logical for change) and are willing to do whatever it takes to make the game the top competitive game in the world. And by that, I do not mean "removing MBS" or any of those stupid arguments to make this game a 1998 version, but moreso things such as adding or removing a unit/ability/etc to balance the game if need be, not being stuck into the "well this is how it was made, tough luck" mold once the game is released.
I also wish people who shut the hell up when it comes to talking about "imbalance" when beta hasnt even been released yet and no one has played the game, and I wish people would stop bringing up things like MBS as if it REALLY is an issue, just think of it this way.. The more time you gain from MBS (1 second max??) can be used to actually MICRO units. It all works itself out, less time on macro, more time on strategy/micro, Of course, the only people who talk about this is the newbs who havent even played at a high level, just think its important because they hear others mentioning it on TL. (while almost everyone whos actually PLAYED Sc2 so far has said it is fine.)
Ohh one more thing I thought of.. I REALLY hope the game doesnt become one dimensional in strategies.. I feel in SC right now, it is kinda that way, Protoss pretty much has to fast expo to stand a chance, and etc. Same with war3, altho I havent played it for a year, im sure all the strategies are pretty much exactly the same, NE teching to bear/dryad everygame, etc. We need at least 3-4 decent diverse strategies per matchup that can work fine, not one that is essential to do and if you dont do that one build/strategy, you will lose. That would suck.
Im really confident the multiplayer will be good, so Im just hoping the singleplayer will blow me away. Also hoping I can play the game at decent settings.
I hope they add a model importer/exporter and art tools >_<
I just hope the game is at least as good as SC:BW.
1. Starcraft II represents the birth of E-Sports as a global specator phenomenon.
2. I enjoy playing on Battle.Net with all my friends for many years on a highly competitive level, while making lots of new friends because of the game and it's community.
3. To finish 1st in at least one tournament, be it local, on Bnet, or other.
Unlike some people (cough cough), I am not bitter. My hopes are very high, and I don't think I will be one bit disappointed.
1. I want the game to be as successful as is possible. It should be the pinnacle of e-sports and absolutely crush World of WarCraft & other games with the # of sales. Everyone should know what StarCraft 2 is. :D
2. An extremely powerful map editor which will help extend the lifetime of the game. The editor should receive regular updates, especially huge ones b/w the expansions. Also, I better not see any bullshit DoTA games clog up the games list.
3. I hope that all three aspects of the game that I love: lore, multiplayer, and mapping far exceed Brood War's.
Another one would be for as many original voice actors come back as is possible.
1. The Legacy of the prequel continuing forever more in Starcraft II.
2. Diverse factions with powerful game changing capabilities.
3. Advanced singleplayer and multiplayer experience.
-Psi
A campaign that will totally envelop my reality.
A multiplayer that will take my skills to the next level.
A map editor that will make me breakfast.
¥ A fun ladder system with good support, keeping it legit.
¥ Lots of new features for Battle.net v2 to play with.
¥ Variety of sponsored eSports events.
-an awesome (ie: stable, low latency, people from all around the world on a same server, a system that encourages top world players to play on it... etc...) Bnet2.0
-a game that doesn't take 5 years to be balanced (sure it'll take some time, but it shouldn't be anything excessive)
-a gameplay that requires a bit more macro than micro in average, but where micro oriented players could definitely compete at most levels (for example, a micro-oriented player could crush a macro player as long as he manages to maintain a low econ game)
These are the things I hope we'll see, but definitely aren't a given. For the rest, i'm pretty confident blizzard will reach my expectancies.
SC2 doesn't loses it's touch with the lore, unlike WOW currently.
The next SC two 'games' come out sooner after their announcement than delayed.
A powerful editor that does all that we wanted.
1) I hope the devs really know what they are doing.
2) A successful sequel to SC.
3) Hope my laptop can play it ><
1. epic cinematic and live characters, awesome storyline, just totally amazing champaign as possible.
2. slow internet can still play the game on the b.net, unlike in wc3 got kicked bcoz lags, downloading maps, etc.
3. totally absolutely balanced multiplayer gameplay.
4. hope i can get the beta-key... i am dying for it man.
A lot has been said by others so i wont repeat.
But these our mine.
1.) Expose new players to the world that is Starcraft.
2.)To be able to surpass the perfection of SC:BW.
3.)(Personally) One day to be able to hold my own agaisnt the Koreans. :D
- Has a lot of strategic and tactic options and more intuitive macro.
- SP story is oscar worthy with varied and interesting missions, too often new games tend to get very boring and repetitive.
- Editor is a lot more powerful than WC3 one, yet easier.
- I hope that SC2 will be able to run on my 5 year old computer so I don't have to upgrade
- I hope Blizz includes tons of other units in the map editor, like in WC3 so Ice Frog and whoever else can create a full scale Dota without too many models having to be created
- I hope the map editor is powerful enough to basically redesign the game and turn it into a FPS or another TPS, etc. The possibilities if we could do that are insane.
1) Macro and Micro should be elements which are as equally important as possible.
2) Unit interactions should be just as compelling as those in Brood War, if not more.
3) The three factions are balanced both on a casual and professional level.
1. Beta released soon. Like within two weeks' time.
2. Map editor with all sorts of map features (like terrain with effects, destroyable/sustainable bridges, etc.), and ladder mappool updated/rehashed every 3-4 months in co-operation with the map making community and the progaming scene. The map editor receives frequent updates that make it an even more powerful tool.
3. Macro mechanics that: are direct in their usage and provide beneficial gameplay, have direct strategical value, create a wide skill gradient and allow players of different play styles to distinguish themselves (micro- vs. macro-oriented play style vs. a mix of both), are dynamic in the sense that they depend on the player and his opponent's choices, are not mindless nor repetitive and provide a viable attention sink in the macro department in order to reward good multi-tasking and micro-to-macro decision making.
- It needs to be fun to play online for everyone. This means that the skill matching system should be as good as possible, and the unit response should be quick.
- The single player campaign should be epic, fun to play, with configurable skill level, and with a good story and cinematics, and a good number of them. Several short cinematics and some long ones would be better than 3 very long cinematics. In-game cinematics should help.
- No forced "robotic" mechanics, like just clicking something at intervals. The macro mechanics feel like that. I think that at the very least, the game creator should be able to select if he wants that enabled.
1. Epic campaign keeping balance between RTS and RPG elements with creative missions and loads of cutscenes.
2. Good balancing encouraging a diverse use of units.
1. Amm improvement- So I can play and learn, while having fun.
2. In channel Amm- This will be for great for clans
3. Esport- Blizzard to invest heavily on making this game the best esport ever, with live broadcast of tournaments on their site at least once a month.
