So it specifically says if you're getting a boxed copy this isn't for you. Are they just trying to save bandwidth or will the CD code from the boxed retail version not work to activate a downloaded copy? What I understand is that you can't install this downloaded version yet. It's just so when it is released you won't have to download it, you can just install and go. The boxed serial or whatever will work fine with this downloaded version. It just wouldn't really be too much faster to install from the download than install from the cd.Quote:

I see Havox. Thanks for the tip, I'll just go ahead and run it from the disc. Unless... is it on a DVD or multiple CD's? The download would be easier if I didn't have to switch discs 4 or 5 times. Anyone have a clue about that?

Apparently there's also a client download which doesn't seem to be the beta client available if you have SC2 beta registered on your bnet account.
1. Go to: http://beta-us.battle.net/sc2/en/
2. Sign in
3. Click on "Account"
4. You'll see a list of your registered games. Click on "StarCraft II®: Wings of Liberty"
5. On the following page, you'll be able to download a SC2 Client which is a bit more than 7 GB in size (beta client was 5 GB, I believe), the filename ("StarCraft_2_EU_en-GB") also does not hint it to be a beta client, neither does the folder the downloader creates: "SC2-WingsOfLiberty-enGB-Installer". There's also no beta logo when you run the Installer.

I don't know if it's just a blown up beta client, including all the patches, or if it's the "real deal"; neither do I know if it's the Digital Download version, or if you'll be able to use this client with your Retail Key. I'll download it and keep you posted :p.
Btw: downloading the beta-client from regular www.battle.net isn't possible anymore (at least for me, enGB client)
