Re: I feel bad about this.
Accepted.
(I've done similar things and felt bad too. :( )
Re: I feel bad about this.
I am not Renegade but will laugh on his behalf.
SC2 is a game, and as such I encourage you to have as much fun with it as you can. If joking around and griefing others is your way of having fun then by all means do it. Blizzard is smart enough to not make the game foolproof (ex: Players can un-pause the game at their own choosing).
Back in the day my buddy and I used to join clan chat channels and mess around with them, seeing how long it took to get kicked into the void. And you can bet your arse if ever I randomly end up with a jerk teammate that's bossy while doing nothing to help the team...I will take great pleasure in TK'ing him if we defeat the enemy.
Re: I feel bad about this.
lol that sucks
just be careful next time bro
Re: I feel bad about this.
Lol.... just out of curiosity though, if your opponent pauses the game, what is the time limit before it automatically gives you the win? Wasn't it like 2 minutes in BW?

So if you're out there Renegade I'm very sorry. It was a joke in bad taste and you had me fair and square. My most humble apologies.
no hard feelings. :)

I'll get you next time grrrr... :P
Re: I feel bad about this.
I remember this one game i played. It was a close game that lasted maybe an hour. My opponent had finally destroyed my main along with my production and I called gg. Now it was quite late at night (morning 4am) and I ran out to take piss. When i came back the game was still running. My opponent just finished the rest of my base and just stood there. I guess he was waiting for me to leave bc he didnt want to find my expo. So i just keep on working and building up again. Finally i had a sufficient army and destroyed his (still at the ruins of my main). Then after repeatedly asking if he was there (i gave him like 5 countdowns) i ran into his base and destroyed every buidling providing me with a victory. The funny thing was that this was a ranked 1v1 plat.
Re: I feel bad about this.
He prolly took a longer piss than you, giving you tactical advantage :P
Re: I feel bad about this.
Interesting story. mebbe I'll do that when i'm about to lose /joke.
Re: I feel bad about this.
rofl
it's his loss he could have unpaused the game lol
Re: I feel bad about this.
You probably just reminded him he had to go to court too.

LOL, nice one.
But yeah, sucks for the dude, still.
Well, it's not that much of a big deal either unless it's ranked...

Correction, its not that big of a deal, period. This is the beta, stats do not matter and will not matter until July 27. However, even after that date this will be funny...
If they are so dumb they don't know they can unpause the game, they deserve to lose. I would have at least looked for a way to unpause it before leaving.
This is like I think it was gifted or gradius using a ton of hallucinated stalkers early game and they said gg and left before they could realize they were just hallucinations.

That's what I was thinking.
Re: I feel bad about this.
during the first week of beta, if your ally left during the loading screen - his base would not exist but he would still be on your team...on the list that is.
So I started a random 2v2 and my ally dropped....so it was 1v2 and i got eliminated...but the game continued...I realized the game would not end until my ally was eliminated, but he could not because he does not exist on the playing field, only on the player list.
So I went AFK and came back 5 hours, I unpaused the game and used my ghost I had to run around. The other guy actually repaused the game...looks like we were both starving for a win.
Ironically, that same night was a patch night (this was like the first week or so...they had a patch pretty fast) so I got a message that B.net will shut down. I held on tight and wondered what would happen. The game just "paused" indefinitely and the game was never recorded on my account...so it basically never happened cause I waited out until B.net shut down. hahahah
Re: I feel bad about this.
Why are so many people calling this guy dumb? I'm sure he realized he could unpause. What if he simply did not feel like being a 'jerk' so to speak, and finish off an opponent that wasn't playing but was at court? Maybe he didn't know he was winning?
Either way, I think he just didn't feel like taking an 'unfair win' or 'waiting 3 hours' to finish the game. Otherwise he would've just said screw you, unpaused, and steamrolled.

Seconded. There is no way someone playing the Beta of a game in 2010 does not realize that a game that can be paused online can also be unpaused.
That's what makes the OP feel guilty (as I see it). The other guy was actually trying to be a decent person over the internet. Little did he know the cause didn't call for it.
Think of it this way Sins: the only thing that guy knows is that he did something nice. So not only do stats not matter in Beta, but in all likelihood you probably made him feel better about himself. And from the sound of it, he IS a decent guy, so... WIN-WIN! :D
