well, as a Bronze in platimun, i have to say that the ladder system gave me too much points each time i won (and rests so little when losing) , so i grow to silver really fast.
And well, i have 16 wins, 33 loses...
Opposite for me. I'm in diamond, last 4 games have been either slightly favored or favored against me and all from Silver/Gold. Wacky matchmaking system.
I've seriously never been favored to win a single game in the beta.
The whole ladder is set up for speed matching, not fair skill matching. It's a beta thing.
I think their goal is to get the best possible player available. That might be a bronze player and it might be a diamond player if you are bronze. It all depends on who is on at the time you are searching for a game.
The first important thing it does is try to find someone close to your skill, if that fails, it will keep widening the search until it finds someone to play you. Wc3s matchmaking system at times would have you waiting for a long time before you could find anyone. I am fairly certain they do not want those kind of waits in sc2s matchmaking future... so, that means you'll sometimes be playing people that aren't up or down to your level...
The bright side is, even if the matchmaking system cant find someone close to even to you, it will still be a lot better than just going into a game in sc1 and being slaughtered by some korean with a 4-0 record.
but the beta system is set to quickly match, i believe in the actual release state it will spend more time trying to find someone within the same league before it goes looking for people in a league above or below you
same for me, i was rank 1 gold, and allways met silver or bonze ppl
This has been an issue since phase 1. I like the idea of the league system but at the moment it hardly seems to matter in which league you are. I hope the system will work better for release.
I'm the opposite. Gali and I are Platinum/Diamond 1v1 players who got placed into 2v2 Bronze but are playing Diamond/Platinum players :D
Platinum vs Bronze? That shouldn't happend very often, unless there are very few players available. Maybe they were playing the placement matches, and got placed in Bronze after you played with them. Still, 6 in a row is strange.
