Will I be able to play the final product?
Hello,
My laptop is rather old. I have been playing the beta on the lowest possible settings with no lag at all, even for 4v4. In 6 months I will get a better computer, but I really want to be able to play the campaign at least until then. Will I be able to? Blizzard is not going to up the requirements for the game right? If I can play beta, I should be able to play the real game right?
Here are my specs.
Operating System: Windows 2.6.0.6000 ()
CPU Type: Genuine Intel(R) CPU T2500 @ 2.00GHz
CPU Speed (GHz): 2.02
System Memory (GB): 1.998
Video Card Model: ATI Mobility Radeon X1400
Video Card Driver: atiumdag.dll
Desktop Resolution: 1440x900
Hard Disk Size (GB): 67.909
Hard Disk Free Space (GB): 30.417
Thank you for your help!
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
We have some common specs (same RAM, Resolution, Free Space) and in mine it works in Custom Settings (I put everything in Low or Off except Models and Physics and works OK)
Idk what Windows you are referring to, but SC2 works for XP, Vista and 7
It seems fine to me if you can tolerate Low Settings
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
Thanks for the quick response! Anyone else have an opinion? I have been waiting for this game for so long!
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
Very hard to play it, but it should do alright on low settings. May want to check on network items though. What OS do you have?
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
I am using Windows Vista Ultimate Ed.
I mean, if I could play fine for the most part in Phase 1, why not in phase 2 or the final product?
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
one thing that probably could help u some is if you change the operational system to windovs xp if your laptop accepts that operational system.
vista in itself takes up very much resources and starcraft supports xp very well i hawe been playing the sc2 beta on my stationary computer with xp for an age.

Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
Well, I am not trying to play on higher settings. I just want to be able to play the game so I can see how the story unfolds. The only thing I turn on is 3D portraits and that seems to make no difference when I played phase 1 of beta.
The question is, will blizzard up the requirements for the final product, or will I be able to play as long as I can play phase 2 of beta.
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
I think you're fine for the system requirements. You should be able to play the full product no problems on low. However, if you do find some extra cash, think about building a new desktop. You only need a dual core (2 GHZ min), at least 2 GB of RAM and 1 good Video Card to play it on Medium/high. You're missing on a lot of things when you play on Low.
But, for now, your comp will work with phase 2 and full version SC2.
Re: Will I be able to play the final product?
So what is it like on High or Ultra high (is there an ultra high?)? Does anyone have pictures for comparison?
Thanks for your responses. Any ideas when we can play the beta again? I want to make sure I can still play
